When thinking about electric car companies in the USA, it’s easy to remember the brand that sparked the country’s interest in the first place: Tesla. The Tesla Model 3 came some time after the manufacturer’s launch, but it’s one of the best American EVs in terms of range. There are currently four trims to choose from but the Premium RWD variant gets up to 363 miles of range on a single charge. It has one motor that powers the rear axle with 295 horsepower. Another big and heavy model that’s more family-friendly is the Rivian R1S SUV. It’s a three-row, seven-seat model that puts an emphasis on practicality and comfort for everybody inside. No other American brand gets close to Lucid, as the Air sedan manages to squeeze out a record-breaking 512 miles of range on a single charge. Like usual, there are multiple trims to choose from. That said, even its lower trim levels could have a place on this list with their ranges. To unlock all 512 miles, though, buyers must choose the Grand Touring trim. It comes with plenty of luxury and comfort features in addition to 819 horsepower. Plus, it can add 200 miles of range with just 12 minutes of charging on a 350 kW DC fast charger.
