2026 Toyota Rav4 6th Gen vs 5th Gen – You Won’t Believe the Difference!
👋 Today lets take a look at the all new 2026 Toyota Rav4! The new 2026 Rav4 is the 6th generation. So lets see how the 5th generation Rav4 compares! One of the biggest complaints I’ve seen with the new 2026 Rav4 is that the interior is just hard plastic. Well, these two are both the XLE model and as shown, the new Rav4 actually has more soft touch materials. The hard plastics in the new Rav4 are painted in a nice satin metallic grey color that looks really good. The last generation Rav4 had more textured hard plastic that in my opinion looks cheap. Both being XLE models have the smaller screens then XSE trims, but each has plenty of info on them. As expected, the 2026 Rav4 has a really user friendly multimedia screen and a configurable gauge cluster. 5th gen Rav4 is basic as we’ve seen since 2019 when the 5th gen Rav4 came out. All the Rav4’s got a 2.5L inline 4 cylinder. However for 2026 the hybrid is standard and the plug in hybrid is the upgrade. 5th gen Rav4’s were naturally aspirated with a hybrid being available. PHEV was available in very limited supply. Interior space is about identical and both vehicles care comfortable to sit in. Cargo volume and back seats are similar too. Driving these two SUV’s you’ll find the new 2026 rav4 is a bit smoother and quieter. Not by much, but noticeable enough to show it’s updated. Style is a lot more boxy and bold with the 6th gen Rav4 vs the sharp lines on the 5th gen. Both look good in my opinion. So biggest changes really are better interior materials, more modern interior, slightly more refined and better efficiency across the board. So I think Toyota did a great job updating the best selling SUV and the 2026 Toyota Rav4 6th gen will be another home run! Ford 2025 the Rav4 XLE Premium Hybrid had a base MSRP of $37,250. For 2026 the XLE Premium has a base price of $36,100.
So pricing is even better then before depending on the trim level!
