Data on Electric Motorcycles market is finally encouraging with last year reaching the new all-time record, first time after four years. The industry record scored in 2021 was based on the success of the segment in China, which represented 92.4% of global sales.
In the period 2021-2025 sales increased just a little, with 2025 ended at 9.8 million global registrations (based on 97 countries data).
However inside the data changed a lot.
China remains the dominant player in the global electric two-wheeler market, accounting for 72.4% of the total sales. After having lost near one third in the previous three years, in 2025 sales increased by 11.3%. Today, all top Chinese EVs manufacturers are focused on expanding their activity abroad.
India has emerged as the second-largest market, driven by new regulations and incentives for electric vehicles. Although available incentives to EVs have been, in 2025 sales increased 5.2% with TVS Motor taking the leadership ahead of pure EV manufacturers, like Ola Electric and Ather.
Vietnam ranks third, with a real EV sales boom and an annual +152.8% increase with the local EV specialist, Vinfast, jumping within the Top 10 EVs global manufacturers.
Turkey is the 4th market thanks to a 27.5% increase in the EVs, a notable performance considering that the ICE market is struggling, following the recent years boom.
Pakistan surged up as the 5th largest market, thanks to a strong government focus on the sector, with several local startups and chinese OEMs pushing the sector, up 194% year on year.
Future Prospects
The number of electric two-wheelers in circulation exceed the 80 million, representing the 8.8% of the total 2-wheeler fleet introduced in the last decade.
