A man behind the wheel of a Tesla was traveling nearly 75 mph on a road with a 25 mph speed limit in Secaucus when he caused a crash that seriously injured another driver earlier this year, police said.
Jobeth Manga, 21, was speeding south at 71 mph on County Avenue on Jan. 13 when he struck a northbound vehicle as that car turned into a United Parcel Service parking lot, according to Secaucus police.
Manga, of Secaucus, was charged with assault by auto. He was issued summonses for reckless driving and speeding before being released.

Manga and his passenger were treated for minor injuries.
The crash took place at about 10:50 p.m., according to municipal court records.
Manga was issued a summonses and released. An attorney is not listed in court records.
