Nvidia Shares Rise After Billionaire Leo KoGuan Buys 1 Million; Stock Up Nearly 1.5% on Wednesday.
Billionaire investor Leo KoGuan purchased 1 million shares of Nvidia NVDA this week and indicated he may acquire an additional 1 million shares, according to a Wednesday social media post.
Based on Nvidia’s Tuesday closing price of $180.05, the initial purchase suggests an outlay of roughly $180 million. The stock has declined about 7% over the past week, reflecting recent volatility in technology shares.
KoGuan, known as one of the largest individual shareholders of Tesla (TSLA), said he views artificial intelligence as being in its early stages rather than a speculative peak. He told Bloomberg he intends to buy more Nvidia shares to demonstrate confidence amid what he described as a nervous market.
Public estimates place KoGuan’s net worth at approximately $12.8 billion. He has previously disclosed that he remains primarily invested in Tesla and U.S. Treasury bills, though he has indicated plans to gradually reduce his Tesla holdings.
