The D9 seats seven in a 2+2+3 layout. The cabin uses Nappa leather, open-pore white ash wood trim, soft-touch surfaces, and a suede roofliner (AWD only). Concealed ambient lighting runs throughout.

Second-row captain’s chairs include heating, ventilation, massage, power leg rests, 4-way lumbar adjustment, and position memory. Both the second and third rows offer more than 900mm of legroom and over 1,500mm of headroom.

With all seven seats in use, the D9 still offers 410 litres of boot space. Fold the rear rows and that grows to 2,310 litres. Dual electric sliding doors open wide, with soft-close, anti-pinch protection, and multiple activation methods.

Technology

The D9 has a 15.6-inch infotainment screen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 12-inch head-up display. Four-zone voice assistance and over-the-air updates are included. Second-row passengers get a 5.5-inch armrest display to control seats, climate, and entertainment.

A dual-mode fridge and hotbox is a standout feature. It can chill to between -6°C and 6°C, or warm to 50°C.

The 14-speaker Dynaudio system produces 420 watts and is tuned in Denmark for the D9’s cabin. Cabin noise at 120km/h measures 64.8 dB, which is low for a vehicle of this size.

Suspension and Ride

The AWD model gets BYD’s DiSus-C suspension system. Electronically controlled dampers and sensors reduce pitch, roll, and lift for a smoother ride. The FWD model uses a conventionally tuned setup with optimised tyre selection and acoustic insulation.

The D9 uses a Cell-to-Body structure that integrates the Blade Battery into the vehicle body. This improves torsional rigidity and lowers the centre of gravity. High-strength steel makes up 75 per cent of the body.

Eight airbags are fitted, including one of the longest side curtain airbags in production. Active safety includes AEB, Emergency Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Braking, and Traffic Sign Recognition.
