REDLANDS, CA — Police are continuing to investigate what they are calling an “attempted vehicular homicide” that left four people seriously injured over the weekend in Redlands.

The incident was reported around 1:30 a.m. Sunday in front of the Redlands Underground bar and grill at 19 E. Citrus Avenue.

Witnesses told Redlands police that an altercation occurred between several people outside the establishment. One of those involved got into a 2022 Tesla and drove west on Citrus Avenue, but a few minutes later, drove back and rammed into four people who were standing in the street in front of the bar.

The impact caused the Tesla driver to lose control and collide with the curb.

At the same time, an unknown person fired several shots, striking the window of one business and the door of another, police said.

No one was hit by the gunfire, but the people who were struck by the Tesla were transported to the hospital with major injuries, according to police.

The Tesla fled west on Citrus Avenue, leaving a trail of leaked fluids, police said.

No arrests were announced as of Monday afternoon.

Anyone with information about the incident or the suspect is asked to contact Detective Thomas Williams at 909-335-4777 or by email at twilliams@redlandspolice.org.
