Unlike in the past, EV shoppers may have better reasons to buy rather than lease. After the loss of government subsidies last fall, electric car rebates on a wide range of models shifted to favor buying instead of leasing. This month, we found EVs with discounts worth almost 30% off MSRP and double-digit savings of up to $25,000.

Polestar 3 white color ev

The 2025 Polestar 3 has up to a 28% discount off sticker this month for returning customers. First, there’s a $18,000 Clean Vehicle Incentive for everyone. There’s also a $1,000 loyalty discount for up to $19,000 in combined savings. Polestar is also offering a 2.99% financing deal for 60 months that can be stacked with those offers.

Kia Niro grey color

The 2025 Kia Niro EV has a $10,000 Customer Cash incentive through March 2. That’s worth up to 24% off MSRP on the base trim. With the discount, shoppers should expect to see prices close to $31,000 before taxes and fees. That could help make the EV a better buy than other green vehicles like gas-electric hybrids.

Alternatively, the brand’s other electric vehicles, like the 2025 Kia EV6 and the 2026 Kia EV9, have a minimum of $10,000 in Customer Cash, too. Kia clearly seems motivated to sell-down current inventory. With the $10,000 purchase discount, the Niro EV may be one of the most affordable electric cars on the market right now.

Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV

The 2026 Mercedes-Maybach EQS 580 has the largest discount on an EV at $25,000 off MSRP. However, unlike a traditional rebate offer, this is a dealer cash incentive called the Mercedes Incentive Bonus and is available whether you buy or lease. You can stack it with 3.99% financing for 60 months (or 5.99% for 72).

Unfortunately, due to its over-$180,000 MSRP, that only translates to about a 14% discount. Having said that, we think it’s noteworthy to see such a massive incentive on a vehicle like this, especially as a 2026 model. Like most Mercedes deals, this one will end on March 2. The EQS 580 has an estimated range of up to 317 miles.

2024 BMW i7 electric car two-tone paint

All 2026 BMW i7 EVs have a $7,500 Cash Credit when purchasing your car outright or when you have outside financing. However, there’s also an APR Credit worth the same amount that you can combine with 4.99% APR financing for 72 months. There’s also a $5,000 loyalty discount for up to $12,500 in combined savings.

That adds up to about a 12% discount off MSRP. However, shoppers should be aware that BMW’s i7 loyalty discount has an unusual quirk. Of the $5,000 credit, $4,000 comes from the automaker. The remaining $1,000 has to come from retailers via a “dealer contribution.” These offers are set to expire on March 2.

Volvo EX90 electric suv silver color

The 2025 Volvo EX90 offers impressive savings for buyers this month. Nationally, all styles have a $10,000 Purchase Allowance for a 12% discount off MSRP. The downside is that it can’t be combined with a financing deal of 0% APR for 72 months. Volvo owners can also score a $1,000 loyalty discount on the West Coast.
