Driving alongside fast‑moving traffic can create moments of uncertainty, especially when a vehicle slips into an area you can’t easily see. The Peugeot 408 helps reduce that uncertainty by providing intelligent alerts designed to support safer, more confident lane‑changes every day.
Using rear‑mounted sensors that scan adjacent lanes up to approximately 75 metres behind the vehicle, the system detects cars approaching from behind or travelling within your blind spots. When this happens, a signal illuminates in the corresponding door mirror to warn you. A steady light appears when you are being overtaken, while a flashing alert is triggered if you attempt to indicate or change lanes while another vehicle is still present, helping you avoid hazardous situations before they unfold.
The tutorial also explains the conditions in which the feature is active, how the system confirms activation at start‑up, and the scenarios in which alerts do not appear, such as tight bends, stationary objects, oncoming traffic or dense congestion. With this technology, the car supports a smoother, more reassuring driving experience in all types of traffic.
