Car Leasing has revealed the most popular vehicles among its customers in 2025, with all of the top four models being plug-in hybrids (PHEVs).

It found that hybrid and PHEV enquiries doubled in 2025 when compared with the previous year.
Car Leasing said that PHEVs were popular due to drivers looking for flexibility compared with fully electric models.
The most popular vehicle leased through Car Leasing in 2025 was the Volkswagen Tiguan 1.5 TSI eHybrid R-Line.
It was followed by the Volvo XC60 PHEV Plus Black Edition AWD, the Cupra Formentor 1.5 eHybrid and the Volkswagen Tiguan 1.5 TSI 272 eHybrid R-Line, the more powerful PHEV Tiguan variant.
The fifth most-leased model in 2025 was the Tesla Model Y Long Range AWD, Car Leasing’s most popular EV.
Car Leasing attributed its popularity to its competitive range and Tesla’s Supercharger network, although models from other brands are now able to use the network.
The eighth most leased vehicle in 2025 was the Peugeot Expert L1 Diesel Professional, the only van on the list.
Car Leasing said that SMEs and fleets were attracted to the Expert’s low monthly payments, efficiency and the flexibility of operating a diesel van.
