Prime Minister Mark Carney announced Canada is bringing back an electric vehicle incentive.
The new five-year EV Affordability Program will offer a rebate of up to $5,000 for the purchase or lease of a battery-electric vehicle (BEV) or fuel-cell electric vehicle (FCEV), and up to $2,500 for the purchase or lease of a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV).
The rebate is only available on EVs and PHEVs with a final transaction value of no more than $50,000 on vehicles made in countries that Canada has a free-trade agreement with, unless those EVs and PHEVs are made in Canada, in which case there is no price cap.
And there happen to be a few such made-in-Canada vehicles. They’re made in Windsor, Ont.

2026 price: Not-yet announced
One such model is the Dodge Charger Daytona, an electric car that is available in two- and four-door styles. It is made at Stellantis’ Windsor Assembly Plant alongside the gasoline-powered Charger (no Daytona in the name on that one).
It’s a modern reimagining of the Charger muscle car.
The automaker has yet to announce pricing for the 2026 Charger Daytona.
The 2025 model starts at $57,790, and that includes various fees and levies.
That’s the price for the base R/T model, which multiple news media reports say will be discontinued after 2025.
The next model up, which is expected to remain available in 2026, is the Scat Pack version, which for 2025 starts at $85,790.
The Scat Pack features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive electric powertrain with 670 hp.
As of this writing, Dodge Canada is offering a $3,000 discount on 2025 Charger Daytona models.

Chrysler Pacifica PHEV
2026 starting price: $62,290
The other vehicle on this list is another from Stellantis and made at the same facility as the Dodge Charger Daytona.
The Pacifica minivan is available with a gasoline-burning engine powertrain as well as a plug-in hybrid. This PHEV version pairs the regular model’s 287-hp V6 engine with an electric motor for a fuel-efficiency rating equivalent of 2.9 Le/100 km in city driving.
Several media reports say Stellantis plans to discontinue its plug-in hybrid powertrains, but as of this writing the 2026 Pacifica PHEV remains available on the Chrysler Canada website.
