The PHEV version of the Tank 300 will start at $63,990 in New Zealand.
It uses the same 300kW/750Nm hybrid powertrain as the Tank 500 and Cannon Alpha ute.
The Tank 300 Hi4-T will be available at dealerships from late March.
GWM New Zealand has confirmed the pricing and technical details for the upcoming Tank 300 plug-in hybrid that is due to arrive in local showrooms next month.
The Tank 300 Hi4-T is the fifth PHEV model GWM has launched in the New Zealand market, and will be available in two configurations, with the Lux grade starting at $63,990 and the top-spec Ultra grade priced at $68,990.

The Tank 300 Hi4-T retains the standard 300’s mechanical four-wheel-drive system, complete with a low-range transfer case and locking differentials.
Like the larger Tank 500 Hi4-T PHEV and Cannon Alpha ute Hi4-T PHEV, the Tank 300 Hi4-T uses GWM’s Hybrid Intelligent 4WD Technology system that pairs a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine with a 120kW electric motor for a combined output of 300kW of power and 750Nm of torque.

In terms of mechanical capability, the Tank 300 Hi4-T maintains mechanical 4WD hardware, including a low-range transfer case and both front and rear locking differentials, as well as a 3000kg braked towing capacity and multiple terrain-specific drive modes for various off-road conditions.
The Tank 300 Hi4-T also features 50kW DC fast-charging and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality with a 6kW discharge capacity, enabling the use of the car’s battery to power external electronic devices.
“With the Tank 300 Hi4‑T PHEV, we’re continuing to expand our cutting-edge plug-in hybrid technology providing genuine off-road strength, all at a highly competitive price point,” said John Kett, GWM’s Chief Operating Officer.

“As demonstrated across our other PHEV variants, we remain committed to delivering vehicles where customers can benefit from strong EV-only range, fast charging, V2L and true mechanical 4×4 capability.”
