The new S-Class hood star glow is gorgeous, but banned in its home country [1522×944]

I saw the new Mercedes S-Class with the illuminated hood star recently, and I have to admit it’s a very elegant detail.

What’s interesting though is that this illuminated emblem isn’t allowed in Germany due to regulations around lighting elements on the front of vehicles. Even though it’s subtle, it’s still considered an additional illuminated feature and therefore not road legal.
