SIX-EV, a leading African electric mobility company, has announced a major milestone in its partnership with BNC Motors with the delivery of the initial 2,000 units of award-winning electric motorcycles to serve Ghana’s fast-growing commercial transport and delivery sector.

This delivery marks the next phase of a long-standing strategic relationship between SIX-EV and BNC Motors—one built on years of trust, co-engineering, and shared ambition to design electric mobility solutions purpose-built for African conditions.

The collaboration brings together BNC Motors’ globally recognised electric motorcycle engineering with SIX-EV’s deep on-the-ground understanding of African riders, fleet operators, and operating environments.

The motorcycles have been co-designed and adapted specifically for the African market, with a strong focus on durability, rider comfort, payload capacity, battery efficiency, and ease of maintenance.

From reinforced frames and optimised suspension for rough urban and peri-urban roads, to energy-efficient powertrains aligned with battery-swapping and fleet operations, the product reflects a design philosophy rooted in real-world African use cases.

As part of the phased rollout, SIX-EV will also introduce new motorcycle variants equipped with Musashi’s advanced E-Axle motor technology. These next-generation models reflect the partners’ continued commitment to innovation and localisation for African operating conditions.

The Musashi E-Axle integrates the motor, inverter, and transmission into a compact, highly efficient unit, delivering higher energy efficiency, improved torque delivery, and reduced mechanical complexity.

For commercial and delivery riders, this translates into longer range per charge, lower maintenance requirements, enhanced reliability, and improved total cost of ownership—critical advantages for high-utilisation fleet operations in Ghana and across the region.

“This is not just a supply agreement—it is the result of a long-term design and product collaboration,” said Regina Odei Asante, Head of Customer Acquisitions at SIX-EV. “Together with BNC Motors, we have refined an electric motorcycle that meets the economic realities of African riders while delivering world-class performance, safety, and reliability.”

BNC Motors’ electric motorcycles have received international recognition for innovation, safety, and sustainability. Through this partnership, those award-winning platforms have been further localised to support Ghana’s commercial riders, logistics companies, and delivery fleets seeking to reduce fuel costs, lower emissions, and improve operating margins.

“Africa represents one of the most important growth markets for electric mobility,” said Shekhar Fernando, Head International Markets at BNC Motors. “Our long-standing collaboration with SIX-EV allows us to design with—not just for—the African market. Ghana is a key launchpad, and this initial 2,000-unit delivery is only the beginning.”

The motorcycles will be deployed primarily within commercial transport, delivery, and fleet operations, supported by SIX-EV’s broader ecosystem, including charging and battery-swapping infrastructure, fleet services, and after-sales support.

As Ghana accelerates its transition toward cleaner and more cost-effective transport solutions, the SIX-EV and BNC Motors partnership stands as a model for global-local collaboration, demonstrating how thoughtful product design and long-term partnerships can unlock scalable electric mobility across Africa.
