All new JSW & Chery Partnership Brings Plug-in Hybrid SUV to India | 2026 | Electric
JSW Group is stepping into the Indian auto space with a new plug-in hybrid SUV, developed in partnership with Chinese automaker Chery. Instead of going all-electric straight away, JSW is choosing a hybrid route — combining petrol power with electric driving for everyday usability.
The SUV is based on Chery’s global hybrid platform and features a boxy, upright design with strong road presence. It will be assembled in India at JSW’s upcoming plant in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, and will be sold under JSW’s own brand name.
Expected around 2026, this move signals JSW’s long-term plans in hybrids and EVs, and marks the beginning of a new automotive brand for the Indian market.
