Mondraker kicked off 2026 with a new electrified offering in the brand’s bike lineup. They introduced the Scree, a 130mm trail bike equipped with a 150mm fork and Bosch’s Performance CX Gen 5 motor.
And, in an interesting twist, the Mondraker says the Scree is for riders new to e-bikes.
The Mondraker Scree
The Scree may appear to have a carbon frame, but a closer look reveals well-polished welds that appear non-existent in specific spots. Mondraker calls this its Stealth Alloy, and aside from a few welds, the frame looks like a carbon offering. The frame features internal cable routing, a removable battery, and rolls on 29-inch wheels front and rear.
It also features quite a low standover height, as the toptube plunges downward significantly. Although Mondraker boasts a low standover, the specific measurement is not included in the frame’s geometry.
The dual-link Zero Suspension System delivers the Scree’s 130mm of rear travel. The brand designed the Scree for trail riding, so a 130mm frame paired with a 150mm fork seems appropriate here.
While the travel numbers fall within the trail bike category, the geometry sits between trail and enduro. The Scree sees long 456mm chainstays across all sizes, a tall 649.2mm stack (size M/L), and a 480mm reach (size M/L). The head tube angle is a modestly steep 65.5°, paired with an effective seat tube angle of 77°.
Mondraker opted for the Bosch Performance CX Gen 5 motor, boasting 100Nm of torque. They paired this power with an 800Wh battery on all models, aside from the lowest spec’d Scree, which receives a 600Wh battery. Bosch’s Kiox 400 display screen is integrated into the toptube with their mini remote control mounted at the handlebars.
Those seeking a bit more range can use the Bosch Powermore range extender, which adds 250Wh of battery.
Mondraker offers four Scree models, with five frame sizes: S, M, M/L, L, and XL.
The Scree is for New E-Bikers?
This is what Mondraker is saying. They designed the Scree “for both riders starting out on e-bikes as well as those transitioning from a non-assisted mountain bike.”
But what makes this bike a good option for beginner e-bikers? To that note, Mondraker doesn’t exactly say, other than the Scree being “a versatile bike that stands out for its balance
and responsiveness.” Perhaps there are some hints in the Scree’s design.
First, the shorter (for e-bikes) 130mm of travel may be geared toward those new to the space. Shorter travel bikes, including e-bikes, are generally easier to maneuver and control. However, with weights hovering in the mid-50 lbs, less travel may not be such a significant factor.
Regardless, it fills a space in their current e-lineup.
Perhaps the geometry gives us a hint. Long rear-center lengths can improve stability, while a steeper front end can make the bike feel more responsive. And a 77° seat tube angle paired with a tall stack puts the rider in a comfortable, upright pedalling position.
A low standover height will also be helpful for new riders. Adapting to the power an e-bike, especially one with the new Bosch CX motor, can put out can be tricky. Having plenty of room to hop off the pedals during slow, techy climbs will help riders accommodate the extra weight that can catch them off guard, resulting in a crash.
The price may also be geared toward new e-bike riders, ranging from $5,999 to $8,199—certainly not chump change, but competitive in the premium e-bike space.
Scree Models
Mondraker released four Scree models, spec’d from highest to lowest: RR, R, S, and S600.
The highest spec’d RR offering features a Fox Factory 36 fork with the GRIP X2 damper and a Fox Factory Float shock. It features SRAM DB8 Stealth brakes and the SRAM S1000 Transmission drivetrain, with e*Thirteen wheels rounding out the build.
Mondraker’s Scree R features a Fox 36 Rhythm fork and Rhythm shock, along with SRAM’s DB6 brakes. Also from SRAM, the Scree R has a 70 T-Type drivetrain and features the same e*Thirteen wheels as the RR build.
The Scree S and S600 see the same major components, with the main difference being the 800Wh battery on the S and the 600Wh battery on the S600. Both builds see a RockShox Psylo Sylver fork paired with a RockShox Deluxe Select shock. They feature the same SRAM DB6 brakes and 70 T-Type drivetrain as the R, with WTB Sporterra wheels.
