Welcome to Buckle Up’s Car of the Year 2025 — where petrol, diesel and electric cars all go head-to-head on real UK roads to answer one simple question: which cars actually mattered this year?
This isn’t a studio awards show or a popularity contest. Every car in this video has been driven, tested and argued over properly — from hot EV hatches and family heroes to workhorse pickups and go-anywhere icons. Comfort, performance, usability, value and that all-important “would you actually buy it?” factor all count.
In this mega road test, we put eight very different machines through their paces, covering everything from ride quality and handling to real-world practicality, efficiency and everyday driving enjoyment. Some impress far more than expected. Others… less so.
There are category awards to be won, strong opinions to be shared, and at least one decision that caused genuine disagreement. We won’t spoil the results here, but let’s just say, 2025 didn’t reward the obvious choices.
