Is the 2025 Kia Sorento Plug-In Hybrid Worth It? Full Walkthrough + $8,000 Off at McGrath Kia

Today we are going to check out the 2025 Kia Sarrento plug-in hybrid. So this is a third row SUV. It’s basically a size down from the Telluride. So you still get the good third row space. Um and we’re going to talk a little bit about what the plug-in gets you and everything like that. But this is an EX all-wheel drive trim as well. And the MSRP on this one starts at around $50,000. One of the first things I noticed that absolutely loved was the the features that changed on the outside of the vehicle. New grill, new lights, the wheels are awesome. Um, it they made it sharper to be basically a mini tellide or a little I wouldn’t say mini, like a smaller, just a smaller shrunk down version by a little bit version of a Telluride. And nothing looks hotter than a Tellide on the road. So, I love that they decided to make this a little more sharper. Used to be round. I think this really catches people’s eye. Again, makes it look very luxurious without breaking the bank, which is awesome. So, we’re going to show you a little bit about how you gas it up, but then also how you plug it in. So, you have your gas release here. So, you just push that. That’s going to release it. And then normal, right? Just put your gas in. You’re good to go. So, you got your full tank there. And then, if you come around here, this is on the right side where you put the plug in. So, pretty simple. Just remove that. There’s the plug. We’ve got a standard standard. Whoopee. Okay. I might need to Sorry. There we go. Okay. Literally just click it in like that. Now you’re going. So, perfect for people who maybe just have something in their garage at night and you just Oh, it said it told us that charging has started. It’s talking to us. Um, but yeah. So, you just plug it in at night, charge the whole thing up, and then the next day, depending on what your next few days look like, you will go first on the battery, right? And then it’ll kick into gas uh when you need it. So, that’s how you get that range anywhere between 75 to 100 miles per gallon. When you look at that range, it’s because it’s going to use battery first and then and then kick into gas, which means way fewer stops at the pump, which means way less snack requests and kids thinking that they need all the gas station convenience food. So, it’s a win-win. >> My kids live off gas stations, [laughter] I feel like, unfortunately. That would be great not stopping as much and they don’t think they get a treat every day. >> Exactly. Yeah. So, it’s a win. Love it. We are sitting inside the 2025 Sarrento plug-in hybrid. The files are inside the computer. What? [laughter] >> I don’t know what that’s quote. Oh my gosh. Okay, I know. Um, okay. So, we’re sitting inside the 2025 Sarrento hybrid. It’s a plugin. And so first thing notice is we have two it’s like one big screen across the front but it’s dual. So it’s kind of like when you’re at work and you have like two monitors which is really nice. I love that monitor you know what’s going on with the vehicle right here in front of you so you know like how much gas you have but you also know how much battery you have. So you can see that um similar to like a fuel gauge which I love. Um those right in front of your face you can see how fast you’re driving all those types of things. temperature and then to the right on the other screen is where all the things from uh heat, air, um sound system, all of that is over here as well. So, I love the duel. That’s really, really cool. And then down below is where you can do like your different temperature things. And I love that it’s touch cuz it looks like it’s there, but it’s like it’s still touchscreen. >> Yeah, that’s really nice. >> So, you kind of have Yeah. a lot of technology in in a luxurious way. Silly as it is, when I turn this on, now obviously this isn’t my car, it says driver one, but if I had my name in here and I was, you know, synced up to this vehicle, it’d say Lindsay. But right when I turn it on, it said like, “Good morning, Lindsay. Hope you’re having a great day.” I’m like, “That is awesome. I love that.” So, >> that does feel very fancy. >> Just a nice fancy touch. Yes. Love that. Um, and then you just kind of have your normal center console. Um, nothing too different or crazy. Pretty standard, right? You have all your charging up here. Then you have your heated seats. You have your, you know, uh, shifter knob and then you have your different modes that you want to do. Snow, smart, sport, eco, um, and then your park. So, I love this. >> Yeah. I think the thing I like about this, too, is it is tucked away, but it’s not too deep, so it’s easy. It’s still very open. Sometimes center councils have like a very small hole for that and then it doesn’t even actually become useful. >> Um, I love this little compartment here. >> Oh, yeah. because that’s where you can stick all your pencils and pens for your kids that do their homework on the way to school. >> I’m really setting great, you know, standards for this is for my middle. He loves He just says he does this best work in the car on the way to school. [laughter] >> Hey, know your strengths. >> Sounds like his >> every morning he just pulls out his pencil and sits in the front [laughter] seat, does his math. So, there we go. We got a good pencil holder. >> There we go. I love it. >> Um, cool. But yeah, I love it. steering wheel. Same standard steering wheel. Nothing fancy. You’ve got access to all the buttons here. Love that you have your shifter here. Um, yeah, overall >> this is really spacious. Honestly, like I know on the outside it kind of looks not smaller, but smaller for, you know, for a third row SUV, but like >> leg room wise, I mean, I have all of the leg room in the world and this is and >> there’s plenty of room still back there even with me >> being that far back. So, I agree. >> This is really nice. It feels really big for the size on the outside that it looks like. >> Yep. >> Awesome. So, we’re in the back seat again. I feel like very roomy, especially for this size of a vehicle. Sometimes it can feel pretty tight. I don’t feel that way at all. We have plenty of leg room. We’re not like rubbing elbows. Um, you can get it in a bench bench or buckets. I’m a bucket girl myself, but obviously if you need seven passengers, um, then that makes sense to have the bench in the middle. I think Kia is just really smart about what they do to configure their whole entire back seat. First of all, we’ve got cup holders in the doors, real ones that even have the grippy things and show you. It’s right on top. There’s also a slot for a water ball at the bottom. But a lot of times our second row peeps get left out of the cup holder. Dang, not in the Kia Sarrento. They are super smart. Got a great handle actually to get in and out. It sounds weird, but like that’s actually clutch. >> It is nice. >> And especially with young kids. Also love they always are so good with having multiple USC points on >> I love it on the side. >> Yeah, they have it on the side. >> You have to try to get down here and find like a lot of times too like your kids are younger or whatever they might be. Maybe they’re still in a booster seat. Maybe you think they shouldn’t have an iPad but you know what they need an iPad sometimes and so um you know having the USC chargers down there where yeah you don’t have to go low. And then the air vents. I know that’s so funny, but I love a good air vent in a good spot because sometimes our back rows get dis, you know, get >> like the shaft when it comes to air control and they’re always like, I’m hot, I’m cold. And so that’s really nice there. So everything’s just like really well done. A net pocket, but then a leather pocket. I love the net pockets. >> Love the dual pockets. >> I do too because sometimes things fall through, so you don’t want a net pocket, but I also love to make sure that things don’t get like left there and get gross. Mhm. Um, so yeah, again, super comfortable. Feels big and spacious. I feel like they think about everything. >> So, you can obviously climb through the middle, but I like to always see like our different options of how to get into the third row since it is a little smaller. They do have these automatic buttons, which I love. I’m curious. So, it does that, which is nice. And it is able to make it easier to crawl in the back. I’m going to go. So, it’s a little bit smaller, but honestly, like that’s not too bad at all, especially given the size. And then, okay, this is actually good. Lindsay, look at this. This is like actually good leg room. Now, your legs are going to be a little higher. >> Oh, dang. >> I’m 5’7, so I’m not like crazy short by any means. Someone that’s above six foot might be like knees and chest, but like especially if it’s for kids, like you can absolutely use this as a real third row. I would consider this not an emergency third row, which in past I called Sarrento’s third row a fake third row because I didn’t think anyone should actually have it as a third row vehicle. So kudos, hats off to you, Sarrento, because I have like full leg room here and I am comfortable. And if especially if you needed it for kids, that is awesome. So, I love that it’s got the cup holder. It’s like almost like a slot for a phone. Got USC ports on each side. So, like we especially forget about our third row friends, I feel like a lot of times, especially when it comes to that. But, it’s like that’s the kid you can help the least. So, they need Yeah. They need the charger. They need the cup holder because you can’t reach back. You know, you’re not Elastig Girl from um what’s it called? Incredibles. And so you do need someone that’s in the third row to be able to be like pretty self-sufficient sometimes. Now, we will go check out the trunk. I will say you’re not gonna really have trunk space and a third row, but you usually know that when you’re getting a vehicle this size, it’s like an eitheror option. This is I’m pleasantly surprised. I honestly am. I’m very I’m very very excited about how much room and how comfortable it is back here. All right, for our favorite segment. How much junk can you fit in this trunk? >> Not a whole lot. >> It’s kind of a pancake junk [laughter] trunk, but it’s okay. We love it anyway. It’s kind of a one or the other, the third row or the trunk because obviously you fold down the third row. >> You get a huge trunk space. I love the versatility of it where >> if you don’t need the third row all the time or you if you want both the trunk and the third row, maybe it’s not for you all the time. But it is a great option to have the third row available. And then if you do need the third row or [snorts] if you do need a bigger trunk space, there’s a button right here. Oh, no, wait. Nope. Sorry, I lied. If you do need the third row [laughter] that pushes Oh, this button moves the second row so you can get out of the second row by yourself in the third row. That’s nice, actually. Yep. Yep. >> This one you just It’s a super easy just pull. Oh, pull and then push. And it folds down. And it folds down like that. >> Now you’ve got junk in the trunk. >> Yes. >> Now you got a lot of space. >> Super super nice. A ton of space. So it’s kind of an either or not a both. But you know, to really get both, you have to get like full >> extended full full size. So the fact that it felt that large in in the in there when we were actually inside of it. This is a great third row option. Yeah. to actually have six passengers, seven if you’re really friendly with each other. Um, with that bench in the middle, that does make it feel tighter. I will say if you have a bench in the middle, it’ll probably feel tighter in the back. >> Yeah. >> But with that with with that bucket seat, if you only need six seats, this is a great This is a great option. >> Agreed. >> Thanks for checking out this 2025 Kia Sarrento with us. I am so impressed. The outside redesign makes it look super sleek, really luxurious, and then the inside. I hadn’t been in a STO honestly in a while, especially in the third row, and I was really impressed with how spacious the whole entire thing was because I had previously thought, “Oh, it’s way too small to actually have a third row.” And I did not feel that way today. So, really awesome. Convenient space, really well spaced out. >> Agreed. And I think it’s really Kia does such a great job at getting you the most value and the most luxury for the best price point. And for this one specifically, so the Sarrento in general starts in the low30s, like $32,000. I mean, are you kidding? >> 67 passenger vehicle, >> third row SUV 67. >> Okay. [laughter] Jeez Louise. Um, but yeah, so you you start there. You also can get regular gas Sarrento. You can get just a plain hybrid Sarrento. And then this one we talked about today was the plug-in hybrid. So there’s multiple different ways you can get the Sarrento depending on what you prefer. And with this specific plugin, obviously you’re going to get the most range, least amount of gas that you’re going to have to spend. Um, and so overall, I love that they just provide a variety of options for people so that they can kind of purchase the one that makes the most sense for them and their family. So, yeah, loved it. >> Awesome. Hopefully, you can check it out and love it, too. You said there was some specials. >> There are there’s some really, really aggressive offers right now on these as well. And so, here at McGrath Kia, actually, we are taking up to $8,000 off these vehicles. My god. I know. through the end of the month. Through the end of the month. So, it’s a year- end year end sale. $8,000 off, which is a heck of a deal. >> Maybe someone will actually do what the commercials do and put it on a bow and drive it into someone’s driveway for Christmas. Eight grand. That’s >> Hey, we provide bows, so just let us know. >> Bows. [laughter] Just saying. >> Awesome. and check it out.
