Meelod DK300 MAX: Night Ride and Safety for Riders
All right, guys. It’s your boy Mr. Central Driver back with another video. This is the second one on the MOD. This is the DK300 Max. This is the one that has the two motors. You got a front one, rear one. Decent power, two batteries. This thing is lovely. Got turn signals up here. That’s what I’m going to be showing you guys in today’s video is all the lights because right now it is nighttime. Super cold. Not going to bore you guys too much, but this is the bike overall. Let’s get our batteries turned on. So, you got one down here and this other one has a switch on this side. So once I hit that one, has a little green button. Now the bike should come on. Takes a little bit. The coolest thing I like about this thing is it has like GPS navigation if you set it up through the app. And you can also see your battery percentage and everything like that. And it’s showing that our battery is all the way to the top, but I didn’t charge it since our last ride. We have 10.1 mi on this bike. And we’re going to see how much farther we can go. And we’re going to check the battery percent through the app when we get done with this trip. Now, I don’t know if you guys saw that, but our battery now went down to the proper level. So, I guess when you turn this bike on, I mean, it was a while the batteries are turned off, but um it was way up here and then it dropped down. I don’t know. Just something to note, I guess. But anyway, let’s put it in dual motor. So, both of the wheels are lit up orange. Let’s bump it in the five. Oh, we got to get our headlight on. We have a headlight switch. But before we do that, you have to hold the plus button. There we go. All right. Should have brought some gloves. Cold as hell out here now. I believe my headlight might be a little far down, but I’ll adjust it in a second. Let me get my turn signal on. Damn, that thing’s bright. That’s real nice for safety right there. Let’s see. No one behind me is making a turn right here. Dang. Yeah, these things are bright as hell. I can see them flashing right off the ground. That is super nice. Now, going back to the headlight. Now, this has a high and low beam. This is the low beam. It could be bumped up just a tad bit, just like that. But you can also, you know, adjust it however you want. This is the high beam. And you can tell because it is shining all the way on top of these houses and all the signs up there, which is good for seeing street lights. So far, pretty impressed with the lighting on here. Now, I want to check out the brake light as well and see how it is. One thing about the headlight, though, it’s not as wide as I thought it was going to be. Now, it’s great for seeing right directly in front of you. But if I wanted to see over on the sidewalk, I actually can’t see on the sidewalk over here. If I wanted to see on the other lane, I actually can’t see on the other lane. So, the headlight is good, but can’t say it’s the best. I’m going to say this headlight is probably like a 6 out of 10. It’s weird. It does have like one beam down here, and then it has one beam right above it. But the good thing is it literally comes with everything you need to be safe on a bike. A headlight, high beam, which you really don’t get. And I’m probably blinding that car that just went by. My bad. And then we also have a brake light in the back. And I hope that thing looks good. So, what I’m going to do is Woo! Brakes really, really good as well. Let’s check out this brake light. Oh, it flashes. I didn’t know it did that. So, oh, maybe I did. I don’t know. But anyways, I’m holding the brake light and it flashes like that. So, I don’t think it gets brighter. No, it just flashes. That’s still very noticeable. I’m pretty sure those cars are seeing it right now. Oh, it’s even shining off the stop sign over there. But you know what? That’s actually a pretty bright brake light. The only thing I’m noticing though, it kind of looks like a shark’s mouth or something. It kind of goes like down. Bunch of LEDs, though. LEDs are great. Really bright compared to a nonLEDD tail light. So, really liking the tail light. We should have turn signals back here, too. Right. There we go. I remember seeing these during the day in my first video, but I didn’t see them at night. But those things are bright, man. Those turn signals are really, really good. And the best thing I love about this bike, I love these turn signals up front. Now, however, these top ones are getting blocked by the cables just ever so slightly, but if you were to kind of move some stuff out of the way, you can definitely clear that out. The cool thing about these though is you can move them. You can put them straight down to the floor or you can point them straight up here. So far, this bike is really good on safety. Of course, it’s not the fastest bike out there. There’s a lot of people asking this company to do 60 volts on here. I technically think they shouldn’t go from 48 volt to 60 volt. I think 52 volt is good and they should see if they can get about 40 m an hour and try to keep it under $2,000. This thing is coming in under $2,000. It is 48 volt. Little less torque than something else out there on the market, but also one of the smoothest and comfortable bikes. And it’s really just planted on the ground. And I love the frame design. And you’re either going to love or hate it, but I love the extended frame in the back. It looks really nice, you know. And technically, kids aren’t even supposed to be going over 28 mph anyway. And this bike barely goes over that, but you do have other modes. Like mode 4, I think, keeps you at about 28 m an hour. But yeah, I mean, there’s so many safety features on this that make it really good for kids. But the really fast enthusiasts out there, like us adults, we want to go faster. This might not be the best bike for you. But I think it’s pretty chill. I’m really curious to take it on the trail over there cuz I really want to see how well this light looks in a pitch black area. High beam, low beam, high beam, low beam, high beam. Oh man, I really do like bikes that have a high beam. You don’t really see that too much on bikes. Now, don’t forget guys, there is a discount code down below that will save you guys some money on this bike. If you are thinking about buying it, not saying you need to buy it. If you do like this bike and you like the features on it, then think about using my link down in the description. All right, here we go. Here we go. Good test for this light. And I got to say, I thought my high beam was on because again, it looks like there’s two beams on it, but this is the high beam. Dang, it’s kind of foggy out here. Pretty cold. And this is uh with the low beam. I got to say it feels like the low beam has more of a brighter light and the high beam is a little bit more softer, but it goes higher. So, just take that with a grain of salt. That’s the best way I can describe how it looks. Whoa. Oh, man. What the hell? Why is there sticks out here? They’re trying to kill me. Do they know people ride their bikes? At least I had a good headlight to see that cuz you see it’s perfect for the trail right here. here. It doesn’t go anywhere off the trail to see like in the bushes or the grass, but um I was definitely able to see that. And I can see the sign. High beam, low beam, high beam, low beam, high beam, low beam. I love that, man. I love bikes that have high low beams. I could just play with that all day. And then we got our horn down here. Oh, that’s right. This bike has the horn. Yeah. Okay. I’ve been reviewing some bikes in between this one before I got to the night footage, and I forgot it had that type of horn. Yeah, I think they could have done better on the horn, especially like for safety and stuff like that. I feel like it could have been a little bit better because again, this bike is more aimed towards kids and safety and, you know, following the rules of the road and making sure user signals. Like right now, I guess I could use my signal. I don’t think you need a signal in a roundabout, do you? I don’t know. Drop a comment. I’m not exactly sure. But these are nice features to have on a bike. And look how gorgeous it is out here, man. Look at it. All these trees are lit up. I love this area I live in. It’s pretty dead though there. You never see really any cars unless they’re just going home cuz all this is a neighborhood. There is no main streets in here. So, it’s pretty nice. And my hands are still frozen. Oh, that was such a bad call. Oh, my barber lives right there. He has all those lights on. That’s cool. Tell my barber lives right down the street from me, man. He’s legit. Love him. Uh he was the one that uh dropped my Lyric Graffiti X bike, though. I was a little bit disappointed on that. Maybe he can ride this thing. a little slower, but man, I don’t know. Can’t let anyone ride your bikes anymore. The next thing I want to do real quick is I want to take it up to the street and I want to see how this headlight looks on a street where Oh my god, they’re not going to see me. They’re not going to see me. They’re not going to see me. Please see me. Oh my god. God damn. Scared the hell out of me. Um, okay. I want to take it to the street where it’s going to be completely like pitch black and I want to see how the headlight looks and the tail light looks. Also, quick side note, we’re only hitting about 29 miles an hour as the battery is going down. Over here, it’s showing me that I’m at like 20%. Maybe even 15%. I don’t know. That battery bar is very deceptive. I don’t know. I don’t know how to read that. I’ve only went 4 miles so far. And if we add that on to the miles that I already had, that’s only 15 miles of range so far. I should definitely get way more out of it than that. I’m hoping both of these batteries are on. They should be on. Okay, so here we go, guys. Let’s turn the light off. It sucks. I got to hold the button. And let’s turn it back on. And there we go. So, I wouldn’t like an actual dedicated button to turn the headlight on and off cuz there is a delay with holding the display. And by the way, my battery bars are uh down in the red, but look at that. High beam, low beam, high beam, low beam, high beam, low beam. I don’t know why I started doing that. I don’t know why. Just trying to have some fun out here. But yeah, no, there’s a good headlight out here if you’re just uh you know, trying to be safe and see everything on the road. But again, check it out. I can’t see the other lane. And if now that I’m in the bike lane where I’m technically supposed to be, cuz this bike isn’t fast enough to really be on the street. I can see a little bit over here, but not a whole lot. And then when I put the high beam on, I feel like I can’t see right in front of me. I can see farther, though. It’s almost like it takes the beam that’s right in front of me and throws it out up top. Oo, this bike is getting slower and slower. I need to check on the app. Let me go check that real quick. I believe it was Bike Go. Yeah, it’s Bike Go. So, the bike’s on here. We got to connect to it. Takes a little bit because it’s uh Bluetooth. And Okay, so it tells us how fast we’re going to. I didn’t even know it did that. It says that our trip that we’re on right now is 4.5 miles. That’s what it says on here. I believe my GPS was a little different. Oh, 4.6. No, that is perfectly fine. That is spot on. Now it’s 4.6. So, perfect. It’s telling you your exact range when you’re riding. However, it’s saying that I am at, if you guys can see that, let me bump it up a little bit. It’s pretty uh dark. It is saying that I only have 19% battery left. That doesn’t make any sense to me. The top one’s on. Is the bottom one not on? Hold on. Let’s make sure the bottom one’s on. Hold on. Let me get back on it. Let’s see how the voltage sag is with one. So, here we go. The battery bars got out of the red, but that happens with anything. Oh. Uh-oh. What happened? What happened? It logged me out. Oh, I don’t know. Maybe I hit a button or something. Okay, now we’re at 23%. All right, hold on. Let me turn this bike on and off. Maybe I didn’t have the second battery turned on the whole time. All right, so we turned it off. Let’s turn it back on. MiloD. I always say MIO. I don’t know why there’s no A in it. Um, okay. It goes back up to full battery bars. It shows that our Bluetooth little icon is on here. So, we should be able to connect. And now it says we are at 39%. I’m not sure. Can I run it with the top battery off? Let’s see. Here we go. Oh, the whole bike turned off. But if I turn this one on to the other side and turn the bike on, we should be able to run it on the bottom battery, right? Yeah. So, the bottom battery has been on. And now the top battery is not on. Back to 100%. Let’s connect again one last time. Oh, is the bottom battery dead? I think the bottom battery is dead. I think that’s what it is cuz it just completely turned Oh, wait. What? What is going on? Hold on. Hold on. Um, yeah. I’m trying to figure out what the heck is going on with this bike. Let’s see. Hold on. Let’s turn it on one more time. It’s like it turned off by itself on me. I don’t know. And I didn’t hold the button long enough for it to turn off. That’s weird. 100% again. Connecting. Login has expired. Not a huge fan of this app, I’ll tell you that. It’s uh kind of going back and forth. So 42%. 16.3 miles on the total bike. I got about 15 roughly. I don’t know, man. I don’t know. Oh, that’s right. We turned the bike off, so we have to turn the headlight back on. Some bikes, if you turn them off, they have a switch and they’ll just stay on. Some of those are pretty cool because if you think about it, your buddy’s working on his bike or whatever. Um, you can just be sitting there. Oh my god, I don’t think we’re going to use this app. It keeps telling me to log in. If you had an account, it probably wouldn’t do that. But it keeps telling me to make an account. I’m not going to make one right now. Now, what’s funny is I remember on the BIO app and the other app, they weren’t reading the battery percentage correctly. Now, if it’s reading it correctly, I mean, that was displaying probably like 18 20% over here. Same as what that said. This app right now is saying I’m sitting at about 25%. So, I’m not exactly sure now what to think because this one says 25. Oh, 18%. That one went to 18. Now, this one says we were sitting at 36%. So, the bike go one is the one that tells you you have more battery. So, me personally, I would use the bike go app to get your actual battery percentage. I believe we can hit some buttons over here. Oh, it went to the front motor. Now, we’re rear. Oh, I didn’t hit that one. I didn’t mean to hit that one. What I was looking for was a button to go through the menus, but we don’t have one. But the good thing is is look how fast we’re going now. We’re actually going decently fast. Let’s see on my uh GPS. 33 mph. This thing woke back up. This thing is cooking now. I don’t know. Hauling ass now for some reason. Oh, let’s see how safe it is coming around here. Oh yeah, even with that front motor. Woo! Yeah, we were jamming around there and it was planted. I mean, I did have to balance my body out a little bit, but this is pretty solid for a bike. I think I just got to start remembering to use my turn signals on here. They are definitely noticeable. At least the fronts are going to be really noticeable to people. The back is still noticeable, but not as noticeable as these front ones. I love the fact that like Can I pull them all the way? Hey, I can shine myself with them. If you ever wanted to know during the day if you had your turn signal on on accident, you could always flip these around cuz you probably wouldn’t see them. But yeah, that’s cool. I love the fact that you can just move them wherever you want. You know how those cheap flimsy ones that are always like on the forks and whatnot? I really like these, but some people said they didn’t like the position of these, but I do. Oh, make sure to turn that off. I already forgot myself. And it’s it’s shining right in my face. All right. Well, we’re not going to go super far today because I can’t afford to get sick. I am leaving in a few hours to go to Sacramento for the group ride. So, I hope you guys were able to join us. I will put that video out shortly. But I want to see what battery range it says we have right now on the bike go app. 18%. Oh my god. 30 something% down to 18 in no time. And I only went 5.5 miles today and I had 10.1 miles on it before. So that’s literally like 16.6 miles roughly. That’s not a whole lot. So I’m wondering what’s going on. Maybe one of my batteries didn’t charge. I’m pretty sure they did because the main charger has two leads that come out of it and it acts as two chargers. Basically, one charger is two chargers. And I was able to charge both of them and they both lit up green. The charger was good to go. I just don’t understand why I’m not getting the range out of this bike right now. Not 100% sure with two batteries. Maybe got to do this test with one battery. I’m not sure. But that’s the video, guys. I am going to freeze like a popsicle out here. Hopefully you guys just enjoyed it. It was just really to show you guys the lights and everything like that and the turn signals and, you know, the safety features of this thing. And if it’s if it’s recommended to ride it at night, you know, that’s all I came out here to do. No one really rides these bikes at night. So that’s why I like to give you these second videos, even though they might be boring to some people. But if you’re really interested in this bike, then you’re most likely watching it. If you stuck to the end, drop a comment. Let me know you stuck to the end. Type in 69. I’ll know you guys were here to the very end compared to everyone else that left after the first like 10 seconds. I’ll see you guys. Peace out. Oh, I know I don’t say it anymore, but you guys are the true MVPs, baby. True MVPs. I need to make some t-shirts. One day I will. One day I
