Police say the man hit a residential trash bin and fell into the road. He had been attempting to get back on the bike when he was hit by a car.
HOLLAND, Mich. — A Holland man was killed Tuesday after he fell off an e-bike and was hit by a car.
Police say the man had been riding the bike near the intersection of State Street and 22nd Street around 7:20 p.m. when he hit a residential trash bin.
The man fell off the bike and into the roadway, according to witness statements. He was then hit by a northbound Honda Odyssey while trying to get back onto the bike.
First responders attempted life-saving measures and took the man to a hospital. He later died of his injuries.
Police have identified the man as 67-year-old Daniel Eugene Woods of Holland.
The Honda was driven by a 34-year-old Holland man who police say did not appear to impaired or speeding at the time of the crash.
This incident is still under investigation.
