No Porsche 911 plug in hybrids
Porsche rules out plans for plug-in hybrid 911s, which is actually a W for the car community. And the argument is that plug-in hybrids require bigger batteries, right? And bigger batteries will ruin the iconic overall design of the Porsche 911. And they’re also heavier will increase the weight of the car. And a heavy 911 does not sound right. Now, the current hybrid system, the T hybrid system that they got is actually pretty genius and good because you get electric turbos and an electric motor mounted to the PDK, which is good because you don’t require a big battery. I think they have a 9 kWh battery and it increases the overall performance of the car without increasing the weight or changing the design of the car. Now, if you want a 911 that you can charge, the TYON seems like a good option.
