The Mercedes-Benz GLE400e 4Matic is now here in Malaysia! PHEV SUV from RM499k
like big SUVs, but your fancy ride is sucking up all of your booty 95 subsidies? Well, then this is here to help. The GLE finally now gets a plug-in hybrid variant called the GLE 400E and is now here in Malaysia for 499,000 ringgit. The GLE still looks just as imposing as ever. And this also gets the AMG line to give it a sportier edge, just like the GLE 450. And in fact, I think this here might just be even more sportier thanks to the five-spoke 21in alloy wheels compared to the multis-spoke on the GLE 450. The biggest change here, aside from the powertrain, which we’ll get to in a bit, is actually here in the back seats because unlike the 450, this here is actually a fiveseater model, but you still get the same power adjustments on the side here on the door. And there’s also the additional twozone climate controls for the rear passenger quarters. Otherwise, the rest of the cabin is basically the same same as always, including the twin 12.3 in screens on the dashboard and the same rugged inspired interior design with the grab handles here on the center console. Like we said though, the biggest change is actually underneath the bonnet because this here now gets a plug-in hybrid powertrain consisting of a 2 L inline 4 turbocharged engine, an electric motor, and a battery to give it a total output of 381 horsepower and 650 Newton m of torque. Paired to a 9-speed automatic gearbox and a formatic all-wheel drive system, this car here can get from 0 to 100 in 6.1 seconds and it’ll go all the way up to a top speed of 210 km/h. The batteries are big enough to give you an electric range of 114 km and it can be recharged using AC power up to 11 kW. And as before, this car also rides on airatic suspensions. So, it’ll just be just as comfortable as ever. So, a plug-in hybrid or a 3 L inline 6. Let us know your thoughts in the comments down below.
