Electric Beast! Taycan Turbo GT with 1019 Horsepower

And the 2025 Car and Driver EV of the year is the Porsche TYON lineup. There are so many different versions of the all electric Porsche TYON. Let’s talk about all of them. First is top-of-the-line, the Porsche TYON Turbo GT. The Turbo GT is new for 2025 and the most powerful TYON available. It generates up to 1,19 horsepower with launch control activated, up to 276 mi of driving range, and a hefty 231,995 price tag. The Turbo GT can also be equipped with the Weiss package, which adds arrow bits like a rear wing, stickier tires, and foregoes its rear seats, which sheds 288 lbs. In our testing, the Weiss car hits 60 mph in the same 1.9 seconds as the regular Turbo GT, but it’s a tenth of a second quicker to 70 mph, and the gap increased to half a second at 160 mph. The Porsche TYON Turbo S, second quickest to the top dog Turbo GT, the Turbo S produces 938 horsepower with launch control activated. We haven’t had the Turbo S on our test track yet, but considering the Turbo GT’s 1.9 second time to 60 mph, we suspect the S to reach the same speed in as little as 2.1 seconds. That slightly reduced performance also comes with a slightly reduced price at 210,995. The Porsche TYON Turbo Cross Turismo. Every TYON trim except the base level and the Turbo GT can be equipped as a sweet looking Cross Turismo. The wagon body style is a favorite of Car and Driver, and this one specifically is a turbo. In cross Turismo form, the Tyon Turbo blasts to 60 m perph in 2.5 seconds and clears the quarter mile in 10.2 seconds at $140 per hour. Pricing starts at $175,595. The Porsche TYON GTS. The GTS sits right in the middle of the TYON lineup and produces 690 horsepower through all four wheels when you press the push to pass button on the steering wheel. Pricing starts at $149,895. Porsche TYON 4S sedan. This is the TYON we’d recommend you buy. It doesn’t quite have the hypercar level acceleration of the Turbo and Turbo S models, but it still packs a 536 horsepower punch while coming in at a steep discount compared to those trims. We recommend specing the 4S with the performance package, which adds rear axle steering, torque vectoring, and active anti-rollars. You can also opt for the performance battery plus, which adds a larger battery and ups the horsepower to 590 when launch control is activated. Porsche TYON 4 Cross Turismo. The TYON 4 ups the ante on the base car with the added security of all-wheel drive. It also has more torque and slightly better acceleration. The four starts at $105,295. Porsche TYON rearw wheelel drive sedan. The base rearwheel drive model is powered by a single rear-mounted electric motor that pumps out 402 horsepower and that figure rises to 429 ponies if you option the performance battery plus. As equipped, the EPA also rates it for 318 mi of range, the most of any TYON model. This base TYON starts at $101,395. So, which one is your favorite? And remember, we have full details on every model at car anddriver.com.
