The “Proton Chancellor” is a rebadged and more luxurious version of the Proton Waja sedan that was introduced in 2005, primarily for government officials. It was equipped with a2.0-liter Mitsubishi 6A12 V6 engine

and featured a longer wheelbase, wider rear doors, and premium interior touches like a DVD player, cream-colored trim, and wood grain highlights to distinguish it from the standard Waja.

It was initially used for ASEAN delegates at a 2005 summit before its limited civilian sale.
