Honda first electric motorcycle the #WN7 at EICMA 2025
This is a Honda WN7 and this marks a very big shift for one of the big chaps, Honda. This is the first electric motorcycle and this is going to pave way for future electric mobility from Honda. It was a cultural shock to me seeing an electric motorcycle coming from a Honda. But then I think this is the demand of the time. This is no ordinary motorcycle. First of all, it does not have your traditional frame because the front and the rear they are bolted and connected with the power unit, the battery which is in the center over here. So this itself means a lot of weight is reduced and it is also extremely sleek. In other words, futuristic. This has a newly developed 9.3 kWh fixed lithium ion battery and it also supports both CCS2 fast charging and type 2 normal charges. With a fast charger, the battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes. This has a water cooled unit which powers this and produces around 67 horsepower with 100 Newton m of torque and Honda says that it is equivalent to around 600cc ice motorcycle as far as the power figure goes and the torque can be comparable to a literass motorcycle. This floating type console is also matching with the whole look of the motorcycle. It’s kind of retrofuturistic if I may say. And uh this foot backward position also it’s quite sporty you know and not only it has a single side swing arm which actually makes it even more slimmer a belt drive. So this is actually going to be pretty reliable and it’s going to be for all kind of usage essentially urban mobility but that day is probably not far when Honda achieves super white class performance in an electric motorcycle. Overall from the look of it it really looks beautiful. It really looks futuristic as it should be. Coming from the Japanese big four, it is expected to be one of the marvels
