North Carolina Trail Revival | Toyota

VO: We’re at Camp Grier in Old Fort, North Carolina. VO: September of 2024, Hurricane Helene showed up. VO: We knew right away that people
needed to get out onto the trails and into the woods. That was one of the first questions we got, is,
“When are the trails getting back open?” It’s been pretty important to come out and clean up. We did a lot of volunteer work, like, a couple days after the hurricane. VO: Now the people don’t need as much help,
but all this needs some help. The people who come and clean these trails and restore them… VO: …are of the utmost of importance. How the outdoor recreation community
has rallied to support us is really heartwarming… VO: and it really puts a lot of wind in our sails. We’re really excited about seeing those visitors that came here and fell in love with the trail system get back here. VO: So those are all signs that we’re coming back,
and we really love to see that.
In Old Fort, North Carolina, we saw what happens when people unite for the places they love. Every background, every skill set, and every hand made a difference in restoring the Gateway Trails after Hurricane Helene. Together, we keep the wild alive.
