I’m about to go a bit lower and will be raising my motor by an inch, but I want to be safe and not risk my oil pan. Would it be reasonable to use a street sign skid plate mounted to the bottom of the frame rails?
I have heard that street signs aren’t thick enough, and that obviously any impact to the sign is transferred through to whatever it’s mounted to. Does anyone have experience here? Will raising the motor an inch and then mounting the plate at the level of the frame leave enough room to be safe? Is this overkill, should I do more, any recommendations appreciated!
