Driving Further with Ford BlueCruise
Currently, we are driving on the Germany autobahn and I donโt have to have my hands on the steering wheel whilst driving. BlueCruise is Fordโs hands-free driver assistance system. It allows you to remove your hands whilst driving on highways. The main thing is to have relaxed travel. Ford was the first automaker to bring
hands-free driving technology to Europe. We introduced it on the
Mustang Mach-E in 2023. In 2026, Ford will be offering BlueCruise into
new models like Kuga, Puma and Ranger. This makes the technology available
and affordable for far more customers. To activate BlueCruise, just press
the auto-cruise button on the steering wheel. Once activated, the instrument cluster
will show you it’s active. You can remove your hands and just enjoy the drive. The vehicle will stay centred in the lane and the system will guide you and adapt the
speed according to traffic and to the speed limit. If you are passing larger objects, like now,
the vehicle will be set slightly to the side to allow you a convenient passing of the trucks. BlueCruise operates from 130kph down to
stop and go traffic situations, which we are currently in, and that makes in these situations
far more relaxing. Here, you can sit back and relax and
enjoy the ride as much as possible.
Ford is significantly expanding its BlueCruise hands-free highway driving technology to new models like the Puma, Puma Gen-E, Kuga, and Ranger PHEV starting in spring 2026.
This makes the widely available “hands-off, eyes-on” system accessible to thousands more people across Europe.
