Royal Enfield’s Flying Flea S6 electric scrambler showcased #shorts
[Music] Last year, Royal Enfield showed off the Flying Free C6, which is this motorcycle. And this year, they’ve got the new S6, which was just a concept last year. This the S6 is based on the C6 platform, but it has a traditional upside down fork instead of the Gerder style fork that you’ll see on this version, which is a custom C6. And it also has longer travel suspension, although we’re not sure how much more. They’re not sharing that information today. But powertrain wise, it’s similar. It’s got a gigantic rear sprocket. And this is on chain drive versus belt drive on the C6. This thing looks like it’ll be an enormous amount of fun to be an urban commuter. Go anywhere. It’ll It’s a really light motorcycle. Probably about 120 kilos. I’m not sure what the weight figure is. Battery pack in there. Now, the concept bike had a magnesium casing for the battery pack. This could be aluminium. Again, not sure. These bikes will be going on sale next year. Uh Royal Enfield is figuring out how they will do the distribution network for it. It might be exclusive stores in certain places. It might be a section in a Royal Enfield store in other places. But it’s a brand new journey for the company. And in many ways, yes, this is a very thin non- Royal Enfield looking motorcycle without road presence. And it will be expensive. It’s probably going to be 450 to 650 sort of money because it is a premium product. But this is also the right way to do EVs. If you make a big heavy EV, you cannot give it range. Performance is a problem. You make them light, you make them nimble, and you maximize what EVs have to offer in that instant fun talk. And this could be a really nice vehicle for the city. Although the seat looks rather slim and that’s why the C6 has a more accommodating seat. But yeah, these are very interesting looking motorcycles. You can see they’ve got keyless start. This is what the C6 looks like. Old school design style gerder fork but modern technology and it should work much better than the old motorcycles. And that’s what ARI has from its flying flea operation. Look out to see more of these bikes next year.
Royal Enfield’s Flying Flea is gearing up to enter the market in the coming months and it has shown off the S6 scrambler – its second product after the C6 neo-retro roadster – for the first time at #EICMA2025.
