The 2026 GWM Aval 6 is the first Chinese car in Australia with proper local road tuning. And you know what? It’s a massive step in the right direction with recalibrated steering and upgraded dampers bringing smoother handling and a less crashy ride. And all courtesy of Exholden Dynamics engineer Rob Triani. And this PV all-wheel drive flagship is a terrifically quick and well packaged value for money proposition. But the suspension is still jittery, the steering too lumpy, and the driver assist systems too jumpy. Meaning this is only the first step. Fundamental chassis changes at the design and engineering level need to happen before the H6 goes from better to good. Still, we’re glad GWM’s journey is now underway. H should only improve even more from here on
