Upcoming New Car Launches in India in 2025 & Early 2026 | XUV700 EV, Sierra, Duster, Seltos & More!
The festival season may have just passed us, but that’s not stopped the auto industry from rolling out new models over the next 5 months, essentially till the end of the financial year. The mix of cars that are coming are some familiar faces and new avatars and familiar faces with updates and the return of two iconic name plates. What’s in store? Let’s find out. [Music] The first car on our list is the new Hyundai Venue. Arriving 6 years after it was first launched, the car gets a new exterior design, a new interior design, and a significantly upgraded feature list, and this will allow it to continue its rain unabated in the subcompact SUV segment. Hyundai has released official images of the car, and photos of the interior reveal a dual tone cabin with blue over beige, new interface for the climate control system, and a revised center console with ventilated seats and both drive and traction modes. Hyundai has confirmed that this new venue will get level 2 ADS dual 12.3 in digital displays which you can see in the photos and overthe-air updates. The variant nomenclature 2 has been revised with the HX prefix across seven levels. Finally, there will also be an endline version and it will be offered with a 1 liter GDI turbo petrol. Images of this car have been leaked and it is expected to come a few months after the standard venue has been launched. The venue is Hyundai’s most important car in the subcompact SUV segment as it will take on vehicles like the Tatan Nexon, Kia Sonnet, Marauti Breza, Marauti France, Toyota Tas, and the Mahindra XUV 3XO. We said the return of two iconic name plates. Well, here’s the first one. Showcased over the course of three auto expos, the Sierra will finally be launched in its production ready, guys, by the end of calendar year 2025. Tatas incorporated the square lines and glass roof of the original car but interpreted to the latest Tata design language creating a best of both worlds. Pi images of the cabin reveal an interior language quite similar to that of the curve safari and Harrier but with a triple screen layout. The Sierra will be offered in both EV and ice skes. The EV will be very similar to what is being offered with the Tata Curve EV, which means a 45 kWh battery pack and a 55 kWh battery pack and exclusively in front-wheel drive. Under the hood of the Ice range, we can expect Tata’s 1.5 L GTI turbo petrol, a completely new engine, and a 1.5 L diesel. Both engines will be offered with 80 and empty option. TAT has always been one to push a multiodel strategy in every part of the market that it fights in. And this part of the market it will fight with both the Curve and the Sierra. Of course the Sierra and Curve’s biggest target is of course the Hundai Creta. Kia Stos and Kia Karens Clavis and it will fight those cars with these two models. At the 2025 Bat Mobility Expo, Maroti Suzuki took the wraps off the Evetara, its first ever battery electric vehicle. After multiple delays, Suzuki finally began production of the Evetara at its Gujarat factory and started off with exports. Now it will launch the car in India in December. The car will be offered across three variants and with two powertrain options exclusively in a front-wheel drive. Guys, the Evetara was to be the vehicle that would debut a new dual digital screen package and level two ADAS, but has now been surpassed by the Victorius that arrived a few months ago. Unlike a lot of other manufacturers that are banking heavily on an EV only future, Marauti Suzuki is hedging its bets on a multi- powertrain approach and will thus have petrol, CNG, CBG and hybrids and of course EV as well and the Evitara as their first EV. Now depending on the success of the Evetara, Maruti Suzuki may bring in cars like a electric version of the Jimny, electric version of the Etigga, electric version of the Francino. Arriving at the end of this calendar year will be the much anticipated XUV7 EV or the XEV7E as it’s officially expected to be called. It is expected to share its uh features and platform and underpinnings with the XCV 9E but will have the XUV 7’s top hat. In fact, rumors suggest that this was actually the first EV to come along from Mahindra but went down the line in favor of the XUV and the BE6. The XUV family has been a huge success for Mahindra and heralded it into a new age when the 500 came along a decade ago. With Mahindra heavily invested in EVs, bringing in a familiar face will definitely be a boost for the EV dreams. Earlier in 2025, Renault announced its renolution plan of five new models for the Indian car market within the next 2 years. And headlining this plan will be the new fourth generation Renault duster that is expected to launch in India in early 2026. This is of course the second iconic name plate in our list. The car has already been on sale in global markets for a while now and is being offered with multiple powertrain options. It retains the iconic shape but gets a completely new feature list and upgraded package. However, unlike the previous model, there will be no diesel and instead we will get a turbo petrol followed by a hybrid powertrain in 2027. The taster will be followed by a three row SUV which is expected to be an Indianized version of the Renault Boreal. Renault is seeing its path to a 1% market share within the next few years on the back of the duster and boreal and will put all its weight behind these cars as they have some formidable rivals. This list includes the Hyundai Greta, Kia Stos, Maruti Victorious, Marauti Grand Vetara, Tata Curve, Tata Sierra, Nissan Tecton, and the Honda Elevate. Next on our list is a facelift for the Skoda Kushak. This is expected to be the one big change for this generation of the Kushak and we’ll see it get a new exterior design language as well as an upgraded interior. The exterior design language is expected to help the Kushak fall in line with Kod’s modern solid design language and we can see that there will be big changes in the front and rear end of the car. The feature list is also expected to be upgraded with things like new digital screens and a 360° camera. We however don’t expect any mechanical changes. This means the Kushak will continue with its 1 liter turbo petrol and 1.5 L turbo petrol. Both engines can be had with a six-speed manual and they also get automatic transmission options. The Renault Duster and Nissan Tecton may be gearing up to make their mark in the segment, but they have quite a big challenge in front of them in the form of a very formidable opponent that will get a major upgrade. Yes, we’re talking about the Chaos Heltos and it’s been spy testing and upgraded guys in India. It will get a completely new exterior design, a upgraded interiors and a hybrid powertrain which is expected to be based on the 1.5 L GTI turbo petrol. This is expected to help it play in that allimportant mileage segment game. The final two cars on our list are the Nissan Tecton and a BMPV based on the Triber. First up, the Nissan Tecton. It is based on the upcoming Renault duster and will share its feature list and underpinnings and of course powertrain options. But it will get styling from the latest generation Nissan petrol to help it stand out from the Renault duster. The second big car from Nissan will of course be an MPV based on the updated Renault triber. It will get the same underpinnings and package but in a Japanese guys. This will allow uh Nissan to go underneath the magnite in terms of pricing and reach into smaller towns and markets where they previously didn’t have access. The final two months of 2025 and the last quarter of this financial year will have some exciting models coming out, which means that there’s going to be no shortage of models to choose from if you’re a car buyer.
