Know Your Lexus | Drive Mode Select
Many Lexus models offer the versatile and
customizable Drive Mode Select feature. It provides drivers with an enhanced driving experience by allowing them to tailor the vehicle’s driving characteristics to suit different conditions and preferences. Drive Mode Select provides
the driver with the ability to choose between various drive modes including Normal, Sport, and Eco modes. Additional drive modes such as Sport+, Comfort, and Custom are available on Lexus models equipped
with an Adaptive Variable Suspension. Electrified vehicles may also include Range Mode, which optimizes power consumption and maximizes driving range. To choose a driving mode, press the Drive Mode switch and select the desired mode on the multi-information display by turning the Mode Select switch left or right. On some models, the modes are selected via multimedia touchscreen. Simply tap the “Vehicle Information” icon, then “Drive Mode,” and choose the preferred setting. The drive modes can also be accessed via
the shortcut menu on the main display screen. For models equipped with a Head Up Display
with touch sensor controls, the driver can program the modes into the touch sensors located on the steering wheel for easy access. Go to “Settings,” then “Vehicle Customize,” and select “Steering Switch.” With all these driving modes, it’s essential to understand the unique benefits of each one. Normal is the default mode on Lexus vehicles. It balances fuel economy, quietness, and dynamic performance, making it ideal for everyday driving. When the driver wants to enhance vehicle performance, Sports Mode is the right choice. It sharpens acceleration response and controls the transmission when more acceleration is desired. The Eco Mode promotes eco-friendly acceleration, improving fuel economy by moderating throttle response and controlling the air conditioning system. For drivers who crave dynamic performance, the Sport+ Mode provides sharper throttle response, tighter steering feel, and sportier suspension settings. If the comfort mode is selected, the vehicle will optimize suspension settings for a smoother ride, which is perfect for both city and highway driving. And for drivers who want to tailor their experience 100% their way, the custom mode allows them to adjust the powertrain, steering, air conditioning, and suspension settings to create their own driving mode.
