Right-Sized Utility Since 1959

[Music] We’ve always needed help hauling things. From the moment we had the combustion engine, we were thinking of ways we could haul more. In 1959, Nissan, then under the Datson brand, released the first compact pickup truck in the United States. It was smaller, lighter, and it was affordable. It was made for everyone. And through the years, Nissan has continued to build on that legacy. The pickup truck has evolved a lot in the past 100 years, but what’s cool is that this isn’t the end.

Back in ’59, we introduced the first compact truck to the US, proving that utility and efficiency could come in a right-sized package. That heritage drives every truck we build today.
