2025 Toyota Sequoia vs 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe | Toyota
The 2025 Toyota Sequoia versus the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe. Which of these full-size
SUVs brings the most comfort and versatility? Let’s find out. Thanks to its standard
i-FORCE MAX hybrid system, Sequoia has more horsepower than all of Chevrolet
Tahoe’s engine options. When it comes to capability, Sequoia has a higher
maximum towing capacity than the Chevrolet Tahoe. Sequoia’s well-equipped cabin, which includes available
massaging front seats and ventilated second row seats, give it an edge when it comes
to comfort versus Tahoe. Now let’s put Sequoia
and Tahoe side by side. For 2025, Sequoia is
available in six grades. Every Sequoia model comes standard with the i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain and available four-wheel drive, while Tahoe does offer a
turbocharged diesel engine and available four-wheel drive, there’s no hybrid powertrain option. Sequoia’s capable performance impresses, thanks to a standard i-FORCE
MAX hybrid powertrain with 437 net combined horsepower and 583 pound-feet of torque. Tahoe offers three engine options. A standard 5.3-liter
V8 with 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, an available 6.2L V8 with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, and a three-liter turbodiesel
engine with 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque. This performance focus
continues on the road with an available Adaptive
Variable Suspension that electronically changes damping rates based on the road surface
for a smooth, premium ride. And when the roads get rough, Sequoia TRD Pro’s internally
bypassed FOX shocks are designed to provide
progressive damping, allowing it to handle rough trails while maintaining a smooth on-road ride. Tahoe does come with raised suspension with upgraded dampers
on its off-road grades or a premium smooth ride
suspension on the RST grade, as well as an High-Performance
Suspension Package that includes specially
tuned shocks and springs. Sequoia can also tow up to 9,520 pounds, more than Tahoe’s max capacity
of up to 8,400 pounds. Sequoia’s towing capability
doesn’t stop there. Its available Load-Leveling Rear Height Control Air Suspension is designed to provide added stability and handling by keeping the
body level when carrying cargo or pulling heavy loads. Tahoe can be equipped with
available air suspension with Magnetic Ride Control
dampers on select grades. Sequoia’s refined exterior turns heads, starting with its available
22-inch alloy wheels. And its TRD Pro grade pays homage to Toyota’s motorsport legacy with its heritage-inspired Toyota grille. Sequoia complements its
high style with convenience with a standard flip-up rear window and available automatic
power-extending running boards. Tahoe also has running boards but there’s no equivalent to Sequoia’s power-extending option. Plus, Sequoia includes a
standard power moonroof or an available panoramic moonroof to help open the cabin up. Meanwhile, Tahoe only offers
a panoramic power sunroof on select grades. Sequoia is about a premium experience and to prove it, the model
brings the available heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats, there are even available heated and ventilated second
row captain’s chairs. Tahoe doesn’t stack the
comforts up for drivers and passengers quite as well since its front seats don’t
have a massage function, and the rear seats lack ventilation. On the other hand, both SUVs have an available
heated steering wheel and a two-tone interior option. The 1794 Edition comes
standard with genuine wood trim that Tahoe doesn’t even offer. Sequoia also has a standard
12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, which is larger than Tahoe’s available 11-inch
Driver Information Center. Additionally, the
available head-up display and Qi-compatible wireless
charger on both SUVs are designed to add even more
convenience to the drive. Finally, Sequoia is
designed to stay organized thanks to a standard multi-level
adjustable cargo shelf while Tahoe leaves this
feature out altogether. The Toyota Audio Multimedia system on Sequoia makes staying
connected so easy. Its standard eight-inch and available 14-inch touchscreens includes standard wireless
compatibility for Apple CarPlay, which connects drivers to
the apps on their iPhone, including maps, messages,
podcasts, and music subscriptions. In addition, wireless Android Auto compatibility makes it easy to stay
connected to Android devices and access various apps
and services from Google including YouTube Music and Google Maps. It also includes a standard three-month SiriusXM trial subscription, which includes over 165
channels available in-cabin, and even more on the SiriusXM app, making it easier than ever to
enjoy not just ad-free music, but also sports, comedy, and more. Tahoe also includes a
standard 17.7-inch touchscreen with wireless compatibility
for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a SiriusXM trial. Select grades also include
trials for Toyota’s line of Connected Services, including Safety Connect
and Service Connect. Tahoe has available OnStar
trials on select grades. And for a high-fidelity
listening experience, Sequoia’s available 14-speaker
JBL Premium Audio system has more speakers than Tahoe’s available
10-speaker Bose system. All Sequoia grades come with the Toyota
Safety Sense 2.5 system. This includes a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Automatic High Beams, Full-Speed Range Dynamic
Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist, and Road Sign Assist. Tahoe’s Chevy Safety Assist
includes similar features to Toyota Safety Sense. A Blind Spot Monitor with
Rear Cross-Traffic Alert is also standard and includes a Trailer
Merge Warning system. Tahoe offers a similar feature called Blind Zone Alert Steering Assist. For added convenience, Sequoia’s available Trailer Backup Guide with Straight Path Assist is designed to make backing
up a trailer a breeze by providing steering assistance. Tahoe offers something similar in the available Advanced
Trailering System with Hitch View and Trailer. Meanwhile, the standard
Panoramic View Monitor on both SUVs offers a
360-degree view from above to help maneuvers in tight spaces. Sequoia has standard Front
and Rear Parking Assist with Automatic Braking which is designed to
detect nearby obstacles and warn the driver of
a potential collision or apply the brakes under certain
conditions to prevent one. Tahoe offers similar features
depending on the grade. Sequoia can also be equipped with an available Multi-Terrain Monitor, which is designed to help the
driver see more of the trail when driving off-road. Tahoe’s off-road grades don’t
offer a similar feature. Every 2025 Sequoia comes with ToyotaCare, which includes two years or 25,000 miles of scheduled maintenance whichever comes first, and two years, unlimited mileage 24-hour
roadside assistance. Tahoe has Chevrolet Complete Care, which includes a complimentary
first maintenance visit that covers oil and oil filter change, multi-point inspection, tire rotation, and exhaust fluid top off. It also comes with five years or 60,000 miles of roadside assistance and courtesy transportation, whichever comes first. And since Sequoia is a hybrid, it also includes a hybrid system warranty that covers select
components for eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first, and a 10-year or 150,000-mile
hybrid battery warranty, whichever comes first. With more power and higher efficiency ratings
than Tahoe’s gas grades, it’s no wonder the Toyota Sequoia is such a smart choice
among full-size SUVs. Discover Sequoia today at Toyota.com.
