We spent a week with the Ola Roadster X+, and here’s our quick review. #bikeindia #olaelectric
This is Olar Roadster X+. It looks futuristic, almost like something from Tesla. And here’s a quick review. The battery is placed under this tank. There’s a motor in the middle, and it is a chain-driven motorcycle. Although it’s electric, the motor makes a loud hum noise while riding. The 4.3 in LCD screen is easy to read, but we found some bugs while riding. For example, when we started our ride with a 100% battery, the range showed just 33 km. In reality, it was 233 km, but the display didn’t show the two properly. Also, the trip meter resets every time you start the bike, which I found annoying. Braking is handled by a disc at the front and drum at the rear. And the rear brake is operated by the foot lever, so you have nothing to do with your left hand. Also, this bike comes with brake by wire, and honestly, it is very inconsistent. There is a lot of play in the brake pedal, and you need to press it hard to get a proper bite. But when it comes to riding, the Roadster X+ is really fun. It’s quite nimble. It’s easy to handle and while cornering, you have a lot of confidence. The sports mode in particular is quite exciting. There’s also a 9.1 kWh battery pack Roadster X Plus in the market available right now, which is priced at rupees 2 lakh X showroom and has a IDC range of 501 kilm. And this particular is a 4.5 kWh battery pack Ola Roadster X+ which is priced at rupees 1.30 lakh extra room. Ola claimed the IDC range of this electric motorcycle is 252 km. And Ola also claimed the real world range of this motorcycle is 133 km. We managed to clock 113 km from 100 to 5% charge. For what it offers, it’s a solid package among today’s electric motorcycles.
