2025 IMSA Road America | Mustang GT3 | Ford Performance
[Music] Everybody talked about the whole season like, “Yeah, yeah, in summer we will go to Road America. It’s a mega track. Uh, really cool tracks.” Obviously, they call it the National Park of Speed. As you’re walking around this place, you know, as a fan just through the woods, it feels like you’re in a national park. It doesn’t feel like you’re at a racetrack, you know, in a traditional sense. It’s really fast track. These cars really breathe down the straights and they sound spectacular. I someone told me a long time ago that Road America I’ll keep liking depending on how how fast the car is that I’m driving there. Showed up here in the GT3. It definitely may have moved up a spot or two in my track list. [Music] [Applause] The Darkhor R is for the most part a street car with a cage in it. Really no downforce. You’re on the nose, you know, you’re you’re dancing the thing on the limit of grip the whole way through the corner. Clean sweep. Paul fastest lap win. Robert Noka extends his championship lead again. You know, it’s not easy, right? We always want to win, especially when the when the package is as good as it has been. We don’t qualify on pole three times in a row just by chance, right? It means that we’re doing the right things and that it’s it’s on its way. I think we’re going to be able to do that either today or sometime in the rest of the season. [Applause] But it’s Jensen and Nate Cicero who win for Makumbi Magalia Racing and close the gap on the championship leaders. [Music] It’s my first full full year in in US since uh since since 2009 when I did Champ Carar Atlantic and um I feel I’m I’m settling in. It’s a very different style of racing. The people are very aggressive here. I think this weekend’s going to be a tough one for us to be honest. You know, we we’re on the back foot already. We’re a little bit behind the other manufacturers, so that doesn’t help things. Uh it would be nice if we could be a bit closer, but that’s life sometimes. We need to work on what we can do and and what we can control. So uh at the moment just trying to figure out the balance. We try to focus on execution here and uh do a good call and uh have a bit of uh luck on our side today and anything can happen. [Music] We were, like we said before, we were on the lucky side. Anyway, we took it. We took the risk. I think with the last pit stop, we gambled a little bit on a yellow and it came and uh that cycled us up to the front. You know, Seb and I and the whole team, we did everything we could today and maximized our result. I think that’s more than what we were expecting before the race. [Music]
“America’s National Park of Speed,” Road America, hosted a full line-up of Mustangs from July 31- August 3 during the IMSA weekend. The Dark Horse R, Mustang GT4 and Mustang GT3 all were in full-stride, collecting podiums across the three major championships – including the season’s first Michelin Pilot Challenge victory as a part of three consecutive series podiums since July.
