Have EVs made performance more accessible? #ev #evs #electriccar #sportscar #sports
Here is a hot tip. EVs have democratized performance. You are getting supercar level performance at a fraction of the price. Let’s take an example. The MG Cyber that’s recently launched for less than 80 lakh rupees goes from 0 to 100 in 3.2 seconds. Guess which other car goes from 0 to 100 in 3.2 seconds? The 911 GT3. Now, I know the dynamics won’t be nearly as good as Porsche, but it is preparing you for something much meaner at a very low price point. Now, let’s take a more practical example. The recently launched EV goes from 0 to 100 in 6.3 seconds. That is faster than the 2024 Octavia VRS which takes 6.4 seconds to go from 0 to 100. And let’s not forget all the drag race videos that we have seen of Hyundai, Kia, Teslas beating the likes of Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and Porschas in a straight line. So yes, EVs are sort of democratizing performance.
Electric cars offer an instant torque which makes them naturally quicker from 0 to 100 kmph. At a much lower price, EVs offer speeds that earlier were accessible with much more expensive cars.
