Peugeot 508 Tutorial | Matrix LED Technology

This system automatically adapts the headlight beams according to driving conditions in order to maintain optimal lighting for the driver without dazzling other road users. To activate or deactivate the function, switch the lighting control to auto. It can be configured using the application settings, then vehicle on the touch screen. When you switch off the ignition, the settings are stored. When it is deactivated, the lighting system switches to automatic headlight activation mode. Thanks to a camera, the system detects lighting conditions, light sources from oncoming or proceeding vehicles, the road curve, and adapts the headlight beam accordingly. The system operates at night outside a lit area when the vehicle speed is above 25 kmh. When you approach a vehicle from behind, the segments of light pointing towards the vehicle are dimmed, creating a tunnel in order not to dazzle the vehicle’s driver. In the same way, when an oncoming vehicle approaches, the segments of light pointing towards the oncoming vehicle are switched off, creating a tunnel whilst the car’s paths cross. When you enter a well-lit zone, such as a town, the light segments gradually turn off from the outside to the inside of your vehicle to go to dipped beam. As you exit the town, the light beams are progressively switched back to return to high beam. If the situation requires a change in beam, you can take control at any given time. To do so, you manually switch the dipped high beams to pause the function. The lighting system then switches to automatic headlight switching mode. To reactivate the function, manually switch the dipped high beams once again. The adaptive front light system is a function that includes several lighting modes specific to each driving situation. The intensity and beam width of the main spotlights and modules vary. To activate or deactivate the function, switch the lighting control to auto. It can be configured using the application settings, then vehicle on the touch screen. Road mode is automatically activated as soon as you drive for more than 2 seconds between 0 and 110 km per hour. It causes an increase in the intensity of the headlights. The lighting range is then 240 m. Highway mode is automatically activated as soon as you drive for more than 5 seconds above 110 km hour. It is deactivated if the vehicle drives for more than 5 seconds below 90 km per hour. Suitable for expressways. This mode creates a cone of light with the raised beam. The lighting range is then 280 m. Fog mode is activated automatically as soon as you are driving between 0 and 70 kmh and the rear fog lights are on. Above 70 kmh, the function switches to road or motorway mode. Even if the rear fog lights are active, the lighting range is then 180 m.

The #Peugeot508’s Matrix LED Technology adaptive front lighting system ensures optimal visibility for every driving condition.
