The Happyrun G70 Electric Bike: Versatile and Very Very Fun!!
It’s really, really comfortable. 36 is your top speed. So, let’s go test that out. 35. 36. Man, they have that dialed in. Let’s just kind of go off-road for a little while. Question for you. What do you get when you combine a 1,00 W motor, 80 mi of range, a 36 mph top speed, and a removable rear seat that can be changed out to a cargo rack. Well, you get the Happy Run G70. It’s in the box right here. And like we always do, we’re going to take it out of the box, put it together, take it for a spin. Then we’re going to grade it on fit form and function. Heat. Heat. Ooo. Hey. Hey. Heat. Heat. N. She is all put together. And yes, this is a good-looking, as you can see, dual battery electric bike. What was in the other box? Well, you get a rear cargo rack that will take the place of your second seat right here. Yes, this can go right here. So, you can haul things. And when you stay there, I’m kind of on a hill. And because we have two batteries, this is very, very topheavy. So, I can’t let the bike fall over. Um, but if you want to put your kids right here, that’s fine. If you want to haul things, you can put the cargo rack right there. As you can see, max weight 15 kg. I will tell you these right here, these screws right here are really not long enough to hold or support little feet. So, I’m going to get longer screws for this. As far as what you get in the box, here you go. You get an extra lock. You get your NFC card. You get keys for both batteries, owner’s manual. You have two battery chargers because you got two batteries. You get a very nice tool kit. And then you get an air pump as well. And these tires were not inflated. So, I’m going to take off for that. You have to inflate your tires. This was a lot of fun to put on right there. But now that it’s assembled, I like this little shield for your LCD display. I think that is really, really good looking. Here are the specs on the Happy Run G70. You get a 1000 watt motor right here. You get dual batteries, so it’s 48 volt 38 amp hour batteries. You have an 80 mile range and a top speed of 36 mph. Once again, this is a removable rear seat that can be swapped out to a cargo rack right there. This is all unlocked with the NFC cards. There’s one here. There’s some more keys right there. So, these are extras right there. 330 lb capacity. You have a suspension, full suspension because you’ve got your front forks right there. And then this will fold right here. Okay. So, see the see the shock right there. And then it folds right here. So, yes, it’s going to be a super comfortable ride. We have hydraulic brakes. You have your seven-speed Shimano gear system. You have advanced anti-slip snow tires, they call this right here. And the bike itself weighs 98 lbs. It comes in two colors, black and green. I chose green cuz I wanted to stand out. Look at this thing. How much fun would this be to take off-roading? Oh my gosh, this is going to be so much fun. So, it’s getting ready to rain. I’m going to spend a little time on this and then we’ll take you guys out for a little trip. We will enjoy some time on the G70. First, though, I do have some more things. Don’t fall over on me. Do not fall over. I still have to adjust this. I don’t like the way that it was packaged. Okay. It just seems like there was a lot that I had to do to it. Okay. We’ll we’ll tighten down your brakes, your system here. We kind of adjust this as well. All right. We have this code right here that we’re going to scan. See where it takes us. Oh, this is to a YouTube. Huh. Look at that. This is your Yeah. how to put it together video. Or you can just watch the one I did again when you get your own G70. But that’s it. Okay. Great. So, to power up the G70, all you have to do is hold the S button right here. This is also your pedal assist change. So, you go Here it is right there. And you put your NFC card. And look at that. That’s really kind of nice. It doesn’t, you know, woo woo woo. It doesn’t really freak out in real life. It’s just because the camera um I can take this off now that I’ve already seen the Here we go. Look at that. I guess I could put it right there. You shall live right there. All right. Now, pedal assist says five zero. One 2 3 four five. All right. As far as the turn signals, yes, we’ve got them. Look at that. There we go. It’s an audible sound as well, which is very nice. And as you can see, this indicates which one is on. So that’s the left. Turn it off. Do the right one. See, it says right right there. You can hear what’s going on. And you can see it right there. Now, what’s really cool, you kind of have hazards. You can put them both on. I just figured that out. Okay, that’s nice. So, you do have to cancel them yourself. It’s okay. Just push the button. Push the button for that one. And it’s off. And the horn. Oh, that’s loud. Yeah, that is super loud. Very quickly, let me show you how easy it is to go from a twosteater electric bike to a cargo electric bike. This takes the place of the seat. It fits right in the same bolts as you can see right there. Max weight 15 kilograms. and it’s gonna just make the bike so much more useful. And then when you want to put a rider back here, you can go back. It’s as as simple as just taking off four little 10 mm bolts. Okay, they give you the tool for it right here. And basically, there are four right underneath. You just unscrew them like this. And then take off the seat. And just like magic. Look at that. So easy. Four nuts, four bolts. Easy, easy, easy. And look how much that will hold. You can put a Wow. All your books. You got a backpack. you got a stereo, whatever, this is gonna hold it. It’s gonna It just changes everything about the bike. Maybe you want to take it offroad and go camping. This will hold a lot of gear right there for you. And once again, look at that. It matches perfectly. It really does. It looks so so so so nice. So, super convertible, super easy to change. You can go from a two-seater to a cargo bike. You can take this off, go back to a two-seater in less than 10 minutes, and you can take the kids to school, whatever you want to. So, a dualpurpose, very comfortable to ride electric bike. Also, I do want to tell you that I thought this went upside down. I thought this was the attachment point for this, and so I thought, well, they didn’t send me the bolts for it. No, no, no, Mike, not at all. This is a place if you want to hang a personalized tag or a license plate or something like that, um, you can do so. They actually have the bolts in the back of the light right there, which is really really nice. And then let me show you what the turn signals look like right there. Ain’t that nice? So that’s that’s nice. I thought the company forgot something. I was wrong. They are perfect in everything they do. And look at that. So so so cool. All right, we have some rain on the way, which makes it perfect weather to check out this beautiful Happy Run bike. Yeah, 1,000 watts of power. It’s a good-looking bike. It’ll hold you and a friend. But I will tell you, I wish the kickstand was a little bit taller. See how the bike really kind of leans over that way? And if you are on a hill, it’s going to topple over. I I do. I wish that you could adjust. Some of the bikes will have a kickstand that you can adjust. This one right here just needs to be longer in my opinion so everything holds up straight up and down. Now, you have to remember this is back here. So, if you throw your leg over, you might hit this. We’re going to approach it from this design. And we’re going to give it a a test run. Let’s see how we can see. Can you see everything right there? Is that a good view for you? Okay. As with most bikes, power assist, pedal assist, 1 2 3 4 5. I will tell you, I love this. And the fact that there’s a little screen, a little deflector right here is fantastic. So, we are in 0 1 2 3. Let’s just kind of see. Oh, okay. We’ll do some shifting. This looks like a newer Shimano 7-speed gear system right here. It is as crisp as can be, though. Yeah. And because I I have I have a huge saddle, I can scoot way back here and have way more riding room. If you have a little kid, they would almost fit right there. You could take them for a ride and hold on to them. I’m loving the suspension already. I can tell you I’m going to love the suspension. The saddle super comfortable. You can feel the weight of the bike though. Okay, because you have two batteries right here. It’s It’s heavier. It’s 90 What is it? 98 lb. Brake test. Okay, that’s fine. Let’s go ahead and we’re going to do our regular part of the test and then we’ll go exploring a little bit. I’m going to tighten these up too when I get back. They’re fine for now. Oh, there we go. Okay, now this part of the test is the suspension test. We’ll let this lady go. Go ahead. Hi. Come on. You’re good. This is where we just kind of coast down the street. We let the bike do all the work. We hit the potholes, the cracks, the crevices, everything else just to see what it’s like. And this suspension is nice. I wish that this would light up a little more. I can kind of see that I’m going I think it’s 14. Maybe that’s 12. Sometimes on the screens there you can get in the menu system and you make them a little bit brighter. I wish this one Yeah, I wish this one was brighter. At night, I’m sure it’s amazing. Suspension though, that’s what I should be talking about. It’s really, really comfortable. Oh, yeah. This is a nice nice bike. Okay, so that’s the suspension. We’re going to go up this way and see. Oh, she was mean. That’s my neighbor that I do not like. She’s evil. All right, here we go. This is pedal assist 5. Anything above 12 mph is a passing grade. She seems to be fine. I think we’re going 18. This shows we’re still going 18. That’s good. We are in miles per hour. There’s the 17. Most bikes that I’ve ridden lately have been doing like 12, 13. Some are at 14. We’re at 18 and 17 right now. So, the 1000 watt motor is paying off. And it’s really pretty quiet. It really is quiet. All right, I’m loving that. Let’s kind of go down here. 36 is your top speed. So, let’s go test that out now that I built up some confidence on this uh G70. Now we’re going to use our blinker. There we go. Can you hear it? There we go. Very nice. Yeah, this suspension is really, really nice. So that’s 20, 18, 17. We’ll come up here. Here’s our turn signal. I really like that it has the audible sound to it as well. And you can see it right here in your instrument cluster. All right. 24 25 26 27. Tighten up everything, Mike. 29 31 already. 32. 35 36 36 35 34 I feel comfortable on this. I feel very confident on this too. That’s a good word. Okay, so 38 is pedaling and you know bad out of you know where. But this is this is my favorite thing to do is just let the suspension take you for a nice little ride. Wow. Okay, we’re going to go through here and do some more pedaling. probably go down. I wish this had a plus and a minus because once you’re at five, you have to go down to zero and then 1 2 3 if that’s where you want to be. Most bikes have a plus and a minus. You can go five and then four and then three in pedal assist. I am liking the Shimano shifter though. It’s quiet, man. They have that dialed in. That is really, really comfortable. And then to go up fifth, sixth gear. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Super nice. See, now right through here, you can easily see what the the speed is. And it’s even got usage like an RPM guide right here, which is nice. I just wish you could see it in in daylight a little more. It’s a colorful instrument cluster, I will tell you that. It’ll let you know when your lights are on, all kinds of stuff. It gives you the error messages, too, should something go wrong. Let’s go back up four. And let’s go back. Oh, what? You know what I wanted to do? I wanted to go through here. Have we had any rain lately? It rained not too long ago. So, let’s just kind of see. Let’s just kind of go off-road for a little while. Test the suspension out a little bit. Okay, these tires are great. Now it’s going to get kind of bumpy up here. [Music] Oh, she’s doing good. Yeah, this is really Oh. Oh. Oh. Here we go. Come down off of the hill. You hear the suspension work there? Nice. That was pretty comfortable. [Music] Hopping along. Yeah, with an 80 mile range, this is fantastic. I can tell it’s a heavy bike. If you like driving heavy cars, which I do, you’re probably going to like this. It just makes me feel more confident. It makes it seem like the bike is better built than some of the others that I’ve had. This is a bike I feel like I could just ride for hours. And with two batteries, you could. You absolutely could. So, I think it’s going to do pretty well. Oh, I got to turn off the turn signal. Okay. Well, let’s get her home and we’re going to grade her on fit, form, and function. Yeah. Can you see how much the bike leans over right now? That’s I mean, that is the biggest thing for me. I wish it would stand up like this, almost straight up right. This is This is way way way tilted down there. And I’m worried that because of the second battery, it’s just going to topple over. But given that, let’s go ahead and grade this on fit, form, and function. I’ll try to hold it up like this. Fit the way that it was packaged. It was protected very, very well. what it was like to put together. There was a lot of work involved in that and you saw it. We did the video. So, we’re going to give it a B on fit form. The way that it looks, this is a beautiful looking like beautiful isn’t even really a great word for it. It’s a masculine hunk of metal. I mean, in a good way. It’s just so so so cool. The way this is black and stands out is fantastic. You’ve got this decorative piece right here. You have these pegs which really I needed longer screws for these. Okay, I really really did. These I wouldn’t put my feet on them. So, they are still kind of loose, but they were stripping. Um, that’s the one issue that I have other than the uh kickstand right there. There goes somebody’s horn. Anyway, other than that, it’s a beautiful, beautiful two-seater with a back rest bike. It’s got 1,000 watts of power. And I just love this right here. The instrument cluster is gorgeous. You get the little sunscreen for it. I wish it did better in the sun. Now I know why they gave it a sunscreen. Look at the front. Look at that. The bike. You got this great big headlight. You have these turn signals. Nice. Nice. Nice. So for form, absolutely. Yeah, we’re giving it an A. Function. What it was like to ride? Well, I spent a lot more time on the bike than uh what I just showed you. Yeah. I went around for three or four more laps and it was a joy. This seat is perhaps one of the most comfortable seats or saddles that I’ve ever sat on. Absolutely. The way that the front, See this? Look at the suspension. That’s going to make it a super comfortable ride. You have another one right here. So, the back half of the bike will kind of flex. See how it’s flexing right there? It just says comfort all around. Um, it’s powerful. I did hit, you know, 37. I’m a little more than their test rider. Usually when bikes say that they have a 38 mph top speed, it’s with a rider who’s like 150 lbs on a flat surface with wind blowing him or her down the road. So I’m, you know, 195 right now. So I’m a little more than that, but I feel like it’s it’s adequately powered. But it’s a heavy bike. 98 lbs. I mean, it does take some muscle to kind of lift this up a little bit. And it is kind of topheavy. But is it worth the price? Well, they have it marked way way way down. It’s like $1,400 right now. And I think I think it’s worth that because you get a lot of the buttons, the bells and the whistles. There’s buttons. There’s things to push up here. It’s fantastic. You have a very nice LCD screen. And comfort, comfort, comfort every which way. And of course, you get the cargo rack, which you can trade out for this very, very easily. I showed you how to do that. And it it extends the functionality of the bike. It makes it so much more useful. So, yeah, I recommend this. the G70. It’s a heck of a lot of bike. It really, really is.
