This DUAL Motor Amazon Scooter is QUICK | iScooter iX7 Pro Review

This electric scooter has a 38 mph top speed, two 1 watt motors in the front and rear, a 48vt 15 amp hour battery for plenty of range, and some pretty cool lighting effects. So, besides tons of styrofoam, they give us this ice scooter branded bag, which feels like it has some stuff in it. It’s got Velcro straps so that we can tie it onto the handlebars. And then on the inside, we get I’m assuming the charger here and a bunch of other stuff. Also smells like the inside of a Dick Sporting Goods. Comes with a 2 amp charger. Should take about 7 hours from dead to charge this thing up. It’s a lot lighter than most ebikes. And it looks like they also give us this fender in the box, too. I love these scooters because they come pretty much fully assembled. We just have to tighten down the handlebars on here. So, the bolts for the handlebars are in this little tool case that they give you. So, don’t throw this away. The little fender that they give us goes on the back like this. And they give us disc brakes in the rear. They are cable operated. There also is a 100 watt hub motor in each wheel. And we get some nice knobby tires on the back. I’m not sure if there is a dedicated brake light on here. Then in the middle here, again, we have our nice rubber ice scooter branded deck. Pretty big and spacious. I’ll show you guys how I look in a second standing on it. That’s our other 1,00 W hub motor in the front. And these are pneumatic tires. You can see you fill them up right there. There’s actually a coil spring hiding behind there. On the back, it’s more obvious. You can see there’s a shock on each side of the swing arm. Then we’ve got our quick release here on the front that you just push in and it’s good to go. If you want to release it, you pull up the red tab here and then you push back and it opens it up and then your handlebars fall down. There is a hook that’s built in so you can drop it down and then carry it. It does feel really solid. Everything is made of metal. And there’s also another disc brake on the front. Again, cable operated. And if you did want to use that pouch that they give you, it could just go on the front handlebars like this. Give you a little bit of extra storage space. Actually definitely enough room to throw the charger in there, but you know, carry around some tools or whatever you want really. It’s a pretty big space. Then our charging port is down here under this flap. Then on the left here, you’ve got your rear brake and you’ve got a really nice grip with a red accent and also a little gray insert here as well. And then you’ve got a bell. Here’s our controller for the screen, which we will just hold the power button to turn on. We’ve got a pretty nice display here. It looks kind of blue on the camera, but in real life, it’s more white. Then our power button. If you just quick press it, it actually turns on some lights here underneath the scooter. And then you also have built-in turn signals. The display beeps, shows an arrow, and then you can see your turn signals down there lighting up on the front and rear of the deck. It’s nice that they beep at you so you’re not riding around with your turn signals on accident. And then your M button just switches between miles an hour and kilometers. Ses. You can see here we’re in walk mode. Now we are in eco, race, and then sport. We also have a horn which literally just makes the same sound as the display beeping. Then we got our headlight button which you just tap and then it turns on our headlight which looks like this. Definitely not the brightest headlight. Also have a USB port on the side of the display there in case you want to charge your phone up. And then to switch between rear wheel drive and all-wheel drive, you just double tap the M button. Then you can see it switches to two wheel drive on the display. Also have our battery gauge right here on the right. They give us a thumb throttle here as well and another one of these nice grips here on the side. And then our front brake over here. Cable brakes feel pretty good. These scooters usually have regen brakes anyways, so the cable brakes are just kind of there to help that out. And this is how my feet look standing on the deck. I’m a size nine and I got plenty of room on here. You can see it does like to show dust and dirt and everything on there. And I am 5’9 and 150 lbs. And this is how I look standing up on the i7 X Pro. This is pretty comfortable position right here. You can’t adjust the handlebars up or down, but this is fine for me. You have a nice fender back here that you can put your foot on if you want to. But overall feels like a pretty good stance on here. I can definitely feel that the rear suspension moving around and that front suspension’s helping out too. But overall, the i7X Pro seems like a pretty awesome scooter. And with a claimed top speed of 38 mph, I think this is a pretty good deal for a fast scooter like this at around 800 bucks for the dual motor version. But let’s see how this thing does out on the road and on the bike trails and see if we can take this thing off-road as well. I saw here on the Ice Scooter i7X Pro. I really love how this thing feels, man. This dual motor instant power scooter. It just feels great. You know, this is a welcome upgrade from most single motor scooters. We’re going to go over this big Oh, man. That was a big bump. These are tiny little wheels here on a scooter. I’m not used to that. check out a lot of ebikes on this channel. So, I’m not super used to uh little scooter wheels. Even though this scooter does have full suspension, um there’s only so much that it can do because the wheels are just a lot smaller than on a bike. So, let’s see how this thing does off-road here. So, usually on these single motor scooters, you can’t really go off-road very well. It’s just doesn’t have enough power on a single motor with those little little wheels. But on this, you got plenty of power to go off-road. I’m not even going as fast as I could because it is a little bit bumpy on here. The ride is a little bit jarring off-road. Softer suspension if you were going to be off-roading this thing exclusively. But, you know, for a compromise of on-road and off-road usage, I think the suspension’s fine. The tires on here aren’t super aggressive knobbyby tires, but they do have a little bit of knobbyby tread to them. So, you know, you’re you’re not going to be off-roading this thing like crazy, but just for some light grass stuff like this, it’s pretty good. And it it really pulls on this grass. I’m really impressed with how this thing accelerates. It feels great. This is only a 48 volt scooter, but still it has just it just pulls so well. You know, you’ve got that nice rear suspension on there that you can see that’s visible on the front like I showed you guys in the garage. There is a rear spring up front here, but it’s kind of hidden behind all of this over here. It’s not the softest, but it still helps absorb those bumps. I will take this over a hard tail scooter any day. Like I said, we do have those disc brakes on the front and rear, which we will talk more about once we get onto solid ground. But let’s go ahead get back on some of this off-road stuff and talk about the features on this scooter. So, you do have an app on this thing as well. Um, I’ll pull that up actually right now and show you guys. So, all you have to do is scan the QR code that’s on the back of the user manual. And it connects really quick and easy. It’s not the nicest looking interface ever, but you can go into the settings here. You can change um between kilometers and miles per hour. You can turn your cruise control on or off. You can change your riding mode, turn on zero start, which means you can use the throttle right off the line. You can change between uh your different modes down here. You can lock the scooter. Um you can turn the headlight on and off. Uh again, cruise control right here. Then you can just see some other information on here. You can see your total mileage. You can see the temperature. Shows you your battery percentage. Shows you how much current you’re pulling as well. Usually these apps are pretty useless, but uh this one’s actually a pretty good app as far as bike and scooter apps go. So, I’m not sure if you guys can see the display. You can’t actually adjust it on here. It’s kind of just stuck to the frame there, but I can see it decently in the daylight. Uh a lot of these going over big tree route. A lot of these scooters uh have displays that I can’t even see in the daylight. So, it’s nice to see a brighter display on here that you can see during the day. It said on the app we were sitting at around 59% battery. I’m assuming it saged down cuz I was at about 80% when I left and I only went a couple miles. It shows you the battery display pretty nicely on here. I wish that it showed the percentage of the battery, but it does show a uh a block battery bar on there. So, this thing’s plenty powerful for going off-road and just messing around on the trails like this. Yeah, it gets going quick. This thing pulls. It’s not as strong as it was when it was fully charged, but it definitely does pull. Man, you’re not going to be disappointed with the power that’s on this thing. You can really keep up with traffic and stuff in the city even. And you know, you got your turn signals and stuff on here, so you can signal other people that you are turning and all that, which is important when you’re keeping up with traffic. But you wouldn’t want to hit any big potholes on this thing because it is you’re you’re pretty tall up on these scooters. So, I don’t know if you guys can see the display, but it’s saying 38 on the built-in display, but it’s only saying 30 on the GPS right now. They do claim the top speed is 38 uh on the website, but really I’ve only gotten this thing up to like 32 33 on a full battery. So, the display definitely is a few miles an hour off, but you know, over 30 mph on a scooter like this is still really really quick. I’ll switch it into onehe drive mode. And I’m assuming this is just the rear wheel that’s driving the scooter now. And it it really feels like a regular single motor scooter. It’s not super quick. It doesn’t accelerate super fast. It’s pretty calm. The scooter itself weighs about 65 lbs, I think. So, it’s not super heavy, but it’s also not super light. I mean, we’re getting up to to speed pretty good here still on single motor mode. And they claim the top speed is like 28 on single motor mode. You do have a few different modes. You have a walk mode, which is mode number one on this thing. And it looks like it caps us out at like 12 mph. And we have eco mode, which I think is going to cap us out at about 20. We’ll see right now. So, eco mode caps us out at about 18 mph, which is really nice. and chill just for getting around like in the city and stuff. If you’re on like a bike trail or a sidewalk with other people, then you know, this is a good mode to be in. It feels like it does cut your power a little bit when you’re in the lower modes. And then race gets us up to like 28 m an hour. And then sport is actually the highest mode on this, but it’s kind of ironic. You’d think you’d think that race would be the highest one, but it’s actually sport. This is where I keep it most of the time, just to fly around on this thing. I think the deck on here is a good size for me. If you were a much taller guy, then it might be a little bit cramped for you. But, I mean, for me at 5’9, it feels pretty good. My feet can fit on this just fine. Um, my hand my hands are in a comfortable position to reach the handlebars and everything. When you accelerate, you’re going to kind of have to hang on when you’re first coming from a stop, too. And, uh, you know, everything feels pretty solid on this scooter, which is important when you’re going fast standing up like this. You know, I do love these scooters for the amount of speed that you can get for the money. You know, you could get like a a 60 volt scooter that can go 50 60 m an hour for like a little over a,000 bucks. And to spend that kind of money on an ebike, you’re looking at at least 2 three grand. Have something like this where you can go pretty quick and it’s still just, you know, a regular 48 volt system is nothing insane, but it still feels really, really good and you can get up to speed plenty fast. For most people, this is going to be pl. This is honestly more than enough power for what most people are going to need this for. So, let’s go back up this bump here and get back on the trail. You know, they’re banning these scooters in a lot of places. Um, I know around me in Illinois, I think uh a few cities over closer to Chicago, they actually banned uh electric bikes and electric scooters on not only on bike trails, but on the road, which is just insane to me. If you thought all these bike bands were just going to stay in California, you’re wrong. So, they claim up to 50 miles of range on this scooter, which for a 15 amp hour battery, maybe you could get in walk mode. If you’re just literally going 10, 12 m an hour, but if you’re going to be driving like this in dual motor mode and in sport mode, you’re probably going to get closer to 15 20 m, I’d say. So, on the odometer, it’s saying we’ve gone about 6 mi on this ride. And I have probably about 15 miles now on this battery. Uh because I was riding this thing around, testing it out the other night and I put some miles on it, but I didn’t charge the battery because I wanted to see how much range I could get out of this thing. You just have way smaller wheels and you’re just not going to have that ride quality of an electric bike. And plus, you’re standing up, too. So, it’s going to be more fatiguing. You’re not going to want to ride this thing as long. All right, so we are in two wheel drive mode. Let’s take this thing down here and uh try and do a little hill test on this. So, let’s just go give it a bit of a run out. Yeah, it’s cutting us right here. We’re having to go up it sideways. Obviously, can’t pedal and help this thing out. So, so you know, this is a 48 volt scooter. It’s not going to be the most powerful in the world, even though this thing is so quick. It’s so much fun. But going up hills and stuff like that, it just doesn’t have the torque of a higher voltage system. But, you know, going kind of a higher speed over this grass like this. If I kind of bend my knees a little bit, then I can get a little bit more cushion from all the bumps and stuff on here. But you can still hear I’m getting a little shaking around. This thumb throttle feels really good. It’s pretty responsive. Off the line, it’s hard to not spin the wheels. Uh, just because it it it is a little bit touchy in two wheel drive mode. We’re going over like some big sticks here, man. This is some rough terrain, but this scooter is handling it just fine. This is the first scooter that I’ve tested on this channel where you can confidently take it off-road. So, if you need something that can do a little bit of off-road riding. Oh, we got a stick stuck in the our back wheel here for acceleration. Let’s see how quickly we can get to 20 on this thing from a dead stop and go. Front wheel spinning out a little bit. 20. That was pretty quick. The GPS was lagging behind a lot. It just can’t keep up because this thing’s pretty fast. And the brakes on this scooter, it says it has EABS, which I’m assuming means electronic uh anti-lock braking, but I don’t really feel it. The rear, as you guys might have just heard, locked up there. So, the brakes on here are really, really good, though. I think they’re plenty for what this thing’s capable of. You can really get that front to almost throw you over the handlebars. Yeah, you could literally go over the handlebars on this thing. You can lift that that back end up. These brakes are so powerful. So, I mean, for cable brakes and for what this thing’s capable of doing, like 32 to maybe 34 miles an hour, these brakes are definitely adequate. You also do have the regen braking on this thing, so that helps you get to a stop as well. But, as I’m filming this, they have the EX-7 Pro listed for 859 bucks US. So, I’m not really expecting hydraulic brakes for that price point. Usually, you’d have to spend over a,000 bucks to get that, but I really don’t think that you need them on this scooter. Uh, you could probably upgrade them if you really wanted to. It’s not like you’re having to stop from 50 60 mph. So, I think the the brakes are more than adequate for what this thing is capable of. So, the app is saying we have about 21% battery left. And it still feels pretty peppy even though the battery is getting pretty low now. Uh, it doesn’t feel as quick and peppy as it did when you had a full charge on it. But, you know, it’s still not bad. It’s still spinning that front tire out when we come from a stop. Yeah. I also love the lights on this thing and the fact that you get those cool blue LEDs on the side there and you get your turn signals on here on the side, which honestly I don’t know how visible you’re going to be to motorists and other people, but uh it’s nice that they include them. You know, you can’t really see them too well cuz they’re on the the side of the scooter, but it is nice that they include something like that. I’m going to climb up this little hill right here. Yeah, on a scooter. That’s so fun. Solid, man. This scooter is uh is really awesome. I think for the money. So, if you’re going to be riding this thing at night, the headlight isn’t the best. It’s good enough for just being in the city and stuff like you probably don’t need to see too far ahead of you in the city uh with the street lights and everything. But if you’re going to be out like on a dark trail like this at night and you’re going to be by yourself, no street lights, um you’re probably going to want to get a second headlight for this thing and mount it on the handlebars here somehow. The tail light is also relatively dim. 27 miles on our odometer now. And uh you know, this thing is just has been really really rock solid this this entire time. I can’t believe I’ve already rode this thing 30 mi. Like I said, I charged it up at about 10 mi and I haven’t charged it since. So, we’ve got about 17 and 12 miles on this scooter now. Sagging down quite a bit. It’s saying we have about 18% battery. You also do get a little bell on this thing to let people know that you’re passing. And the uh the brake levers are actually kind of padded right here so you don’t slip off as easily. So, that’s really nice. You have your little USB port here on the side of the display, which is nice if you need to charge your phone up or something. I like how this comes unlocked out of the box. You don’t have to go through and do an unlocking process or, you know, turn off zero start or turn on zero start or something like that. It just comes like that out of the box. The deck feels really grippy. The suspension feels good. The rear definitely feels softer than the front, but hey, it’s way better than having a hard tail bike. So, why would you buy this over an electric bike? Cuz if you watch this channel, obviously I review a lot of electric bikes. I don’t review as many scooters, but I still love these things because they can be a great source of basic transportation. Um, so why would you buy this thing over an ebike if you’re between the two? I would say you’d buy this thing if you don’t need as much storage and practicality uh as you get on an ebike. You know, if you’re living in a a very urban area where everything is pretty close and you just need something to get around, you know, go a few miles around the city and stuff, then I think that a scooter is a good option. I also think that you could get this over an ebike if you had to go upstairs with this because you can still go like ebike speeds, you know, 30, 34 m an hour, but you can carry this thing uh you can fold it down and carry this thing upstairs much much more easily than you can an ebike that could do the same speed. you know, this compared to an ebike, you’re going to be missing out on having a seat and everything. This one doesn’t even have the option for a seat. So, it’s just not going to be as comfortable. You know, standing up for long periods of time isn’t going to be as comfortable as sitting down on an ebike seat. Also, these scooters, even though they are kind of cracking down on them, they are a little bit more stealthy than uh than an ebike. You know, ebikes are pretty big and a lot of them look like motorcycles nowadays. See the turning radius on this thing? Not bad at all. Not bad. But, you know, a lot of uh places are cracking down on ebikes nowadays. And having a scooter like this, you know, it helps you blend in a little bit more. I don’t know if police really going after these, but since you have surons and these really fast ebikes and stuff, people see a an ebike that looks like a motorcycle and you might have some attention that you don’t really want on that. So, that’s another reason why you could buy a scooter over an ebike. You do have a horn, too. And it’s good for if you’re just passing somebody on the bike trail. I guess it’s not super loud. Yeah, but it’s it’s cool that it comes with a little horn like that. But overall, guys, my final thoughts. Overall, guys, my final thoughts on the iX7 Pro from Ice Scooter. I think this is a really really good little scooter that uh that’s surprisingly powerful and quick. Even though I haven’t gotten it up to its claimed top speed of 38 miles an hour on the GPS, um you know, 34 mph on a scooter is still plenty quick. And really, that’s I feel like that’s kind of all I would want to reasonably do on a day-to-day basis on a scooter. If you were going 50 on a scooter, like you don’t really want to cruise at 50 on a scooter cuz if you fall, you’re going flying if you hit a pothole or something. I like the cable brakes on the scooter. They’re they’re plenty adequate for what this thing is capable of. And you can throw yourself over the front handlebars. Uh they’re so powerful. So, oh, really nice. The the the uh throttle response is really really good on this scooter. It’s almost instantaneous. You know, the power is really really good on this thing. I wish it had a brighter headlight and tail light. I also wish the suspension was just a little bit softer, but uh overall the app is really good on this thing, too. The display, I can see it during the day. It’s not the brightest, and if you’re in like direct sunlight, maybe you can’t see it as well, but I can see it perfectly fine right now. I can see my battery, the speed, and everything just fine. The grips on here are really comfortable. And the range that we’ve gotten, uh, we’ve got about 20 mi so far, and we have 16% battery left. Range is pretty good on dual motor mode. You could get way more range if you were on single motor mode only. And if you were in a lower mode with a lower top speed, but since I’m just ripping around on this thing having fun, you know, I want to keep it in the the higher up modes. Whoa. But, you know, I think for the money, if you’re looking for a pretty powerful scooter like this, it’s really well equipped. You’ve got a lot of features and uh you know, everything is is really solid on this scooter. It’s always fun to have a dual motor scooter or ebike like this. You know, just the power and everything feels great. I love the bag that they include, too. That’s a really nice practicality thing. You know, you can throw a few things in there. So, that’s really nice to have. Overall, guys, I’m really happy with the i Scooter EX-7 Pro. If you want to pick one of these things up, I will leave a link in the description for the best price and any discount codes that I can get you guys.
