This Dual Motor E-Bike Is POWERFUL AND Practical! – HiKeep ME-T Unboxing and Review

And the box says Hello Keep, but this is actually another HighKey bike. And this is like the fourth HighKey bike that I’ve checked out this year. They don’t sponsor me or anything, but they do make some pretty good bikes. I’ve been happy with all the HighKey bikes that I’ve tested so far. With a price tag of just $12.99, let’s see if the HighKEP ME is as good as the other HighKeps that I’ve been testing out. And they give us a box right here. Looks like they give us this mini foot pump here, which we will not be using. They give us some pedals, which we will be using. And then they give us the iconic highkey headlight here, which is the same that we’ve seen on all the other HighKat bikes that I’ve tested out. They give us a set of keys here to take the battery off of the frame, which just easily slides off the frame like every other ebike I’ve tested. And they did indeed give us a 15 amp hour battery with this bike, which means that we’re not going to get the most amount of range out of this. I wish they would have given us at least a 20 a hour battery so that we can get some extra range, if not a 25, especially for this price. We will see how much range this 15 A battery gets us on our tests. And this is a heavy front wheel because it’s got one of two of our 1500 W peak motors. And it comes with Chiao Yang tires. And it is a spoked design with large 180 mm disc brakes, which is nice to see on a bike that’s pretty heavy. And here is our nice cafe racer style seat. As you can see, there is a gap in between the frame and the seat, which allows you to put this bag, which they included, or you could put an extra battery underneath here if you wanted to get more range. They did not send me that for this bike, but they do offer it. Also get Cororeide hydraulic brakes on the front and rear, which is nice cuz this is a heavy bike. And it even looks like they give us inverted front forks on this bike, which is really cool. We’ll see how this thing rides. Doesn’t look like they give us any adjustments for the front forks, though. For this front wheel, it’s important that you put it on the right way. You want to make sure everything is lined up on each side really well and that these little locking uh washers are locked into place. We put on that extra bracket here. And then we just then we just put the nut for the axle on and make sure it’s nice and tight. You also want to make sure you install the motor cable correctly so that nothing gets damaged and that you have your front motor working. You also want to use the zip ties that they give you to keep this connector out of the way so that it doesn’t rub up against the wheel and damage the connector. Make sure that you really double check that this wire isn’t touching the wheel at all because you don’t want that to wear down and damage the cord. And these keys right here are for the ignition. They go in here and then you can twist it to turn the bike on. And they even give us these nice front turn signals. We’ll get our headlight installed. Here’s a look at that bag that they give us. It’s got a nice reflective strip on the back. And then in here, it’s obviously super deep. Can definitely fit some stuff in there like a bike pump or just tools or anything that you want to throw in there. It’s really nice that they include something like this. So, the nominal rating on these motors is 750 watts, but they do peak at 1500 each. Here’s a look at our rear suspension. Not a ton of travel, but you get a shock on each side. Then, we’ve got our middle basket here, which is just a little bit too small for our backpack that I usually bring with me. You could probably fit like a little grocery bag or something in there if you just needed a quick little run to the grocery store. My drill here fits nicely in the middle. Not going to be taking that with me on our ride. Hopefully, we don’t need it. So, starting up the bike, you want to make sure that you key the ignition on, and then you just hold the power button down here on the side, and the bike fires up. You’ve got a really nice color display here that’s nice and bright. And the way to unlock this bike and all other highkey bikes is you want to turn the key off, hold down the brake, the throttle all the way down. You want to flip that on, and then turn the bike on with the power button. And then you do that for 30 sec for 20 seconds and then the bike will be unlocked at the top speed. Out of the box, this came locked at 20 mph, but if you do that, then it’ll take it to its maximum speed, which we’ll test when we’re out on a ride. You can see this headlight is really, really bright. We’ve got a lot of buttons here. We’ve got our headlight switch. We’ve got our turn signals, which are on the front and rear. And we’ve got our horn, which is decently loud. And you’ve got your plus and minus for your pedal assist, the rear or front motor, and then our power button, and our information button, which just changes what’s displayed at the bottom of the screen there. This display also does have a little USBC port on the bottom in case you want to charge your phone up or something. And there’s the turn signals on the rear we were just talking about. And on the front, you can obviously have them both running at the same time. All right, here’s how I look standing next to the bike. I’m 5’9 and 50 lbs. And this is how I look sitting on the bike. It’s actually got a pretty short standover height. So, I think if you’re a shorter rider, you probably could fit on this thing, but it is a little bit wide right here, especially with the frame and the cargo rack right here. So, I don’t know if this is going to be the best for pedaling. I’ll test that a little bit later when we’re out on the trails. But, this is a pretty beefy frame here in this kind of regular standard ebike, matte black color. Seating position is a little bit hunched forward, surprisingly. I thought this was going to be more of a chill kind of cruiser style, but you’re a little bit hunched forward on this seat, but the grips feel comfortable and everything. The layout is all nice. I’ve always liked how these high bikes ride and feel. This front suspension is super super soft. The rear shock doesn’t really feel too soft. It feels a little bit stiff, but we’ll see how that does out on the road. As far as styling goes, I think this is a pretty unique looking bike. I mean, it’s nice that it blends the practicality with the cool style of a moped style bike. Ironically, even though this is kind of a more storage focused bike, I don’t think they sell a rear rack for this, but you do get that extra storage space underneath the seat, which is really, really nice to have. And I haven’t seen that on a moped style bike before. When I first saw a picture of this bike, I thought that the seat was going to be up really high. That’s just how it looked in the photo, but it really isn’t. It’s on the shorter side um for ebike standover heights. So, I think that it’s going to be accessible to a wide variety of riders. Also is really nice that you have the option of putting that second battery back here so that you can extend your range. The ME is the dual motor version of this bike, but they also have the MEL, which is just the single motor version of this bike. You get the 750 W 1500 W peak motor just on the rear, whereas you get two motors on the dual motor one. Obviously, single motor is about 2-300 bucks cheaper than this one. This one comes in at just under 1,300 bucks at $1,2.99, which I think for the price is actually pretty good for this bike so far. These front forks have got to be pretty expensive. They feel really good and really high quality. High key bikes always feel really solid. And the only thing that so far, just not even riding this yet, that I wish that it had was a bigger battery. We’ll see how it does when we get it out on the trail. I can tell you that it’s not going to be the most range. Usually you want at least a 20 25 amp hour battery with dual motors, but we’ll see how that does. We’ll see how it performs. But that being said, that is the HighKEP ME. So, let’s see how this thing does out in the real world. All right, guys. So, out here on the HighKEP M. Just kind of pedaling a little bit to show you guys how it looks. My uh selfie sticks in the way for my camera, so I’m not pedaling like completely, but this is my stroke. I’m not going to be pedaling this bike much, but it is uh it is actually relatively okay for a moped style bike. Usually these are really really wide and it’s kind of hard to pedal these. But on this bike, it’s actually not too bad. So, we’ll do a little 0 to 20 test here on dual motor mode. So, ready, go. You heard that tire burning out. 18 21. GPS lags a little bit, but this is a pretty quick bike. Um, you know, different motor bikes are going to be pretty fast usually. And, uh, let’s just do another little acceleration only on single motor. Actually haven’t ridden this thing in single motor mode yet cuz what fun is that? All right, so we’re just rear motor only mode. Let’s go. 3, two, and one. It’s got a little bit of power. It’s not too bad. It feels pretty good, but really most of the time you’re going to want to be on dual motor mode on this thing, man. That’s that’s where the fun is really. Oh, yeah. It gets up to speed quick on a full battery here. Top speed that I’m getting is about 29. Yeah, 29 mph on throttle only. Like I said, we did unlock this bike, too. So, this is the top speed that you’re going to be able to get. I don’t know if you could unlock it even more, but uh 29 mph on this thing is good. And really, this is a strong ex strong accelerating bike. You know, I had the HighKeep K6T, which is also a dual motor ebike, but it didn’t really spin the tire like that really. It was uh it was a lot more controlled, but this one seems like it might be programmed a little bit differently, but you really just get all that power in the front wheel and it sort of spins out when you’re taking off. It’s a lot of fun to just launch this thing and squeal that front tire off the line like that. So, the screen on this bike is really, really good. The visibility is awesome. I can see it perfectly fine in the daylight. The sun was reflecting a little bit off of it there, but it’s super super clear and readable. I was reviewing the Happy Run G60 Pro, and that had the worst ebike screen I’ve ever seen. Uh, it was nice and everything. The information was good. Like, the display itself was pretty good, but I couldn’t see anything in the daylight, and you couldn’t move it around. It was just fixed on it was in a fixed position. It just really, really bad design for a uh an ebike screen like that. But this one is the opposite. This is one of the best ebike screens that I’ve seen. Super crisp, super clear, and you can see it really easily during the day. Suspension in the front is super soft, but in the rear, it’s a little bit bumpy. Brakes on here, they feel pretty good. The, uh, the rear brake on the right hand wo, the rear brake on the right hand side, uh, it sinks a little bit down to the grip, but the brakes on here are Cororeide brakes. I feel like I’ve been talking about these things non-stop for like the past few months because they’ve been on like half the bikes that I’ve checked out, but they they feel pretty good. Now, this being a dual motor bike, let’s see how this thing does going up a big hill like this off-road. We’ve got our X Chowyang knobby tires. Feels pretty powerful. All right, let’s go. Oh, yeah. This thing feels really, really strong. This thing pulls really nice. Yeah, if you’re buying this to go off-roading a little bit, you shouldn’t have any problems off-roading. This thing feels awesome. So, one thing I am noticing right now going over bumps is my leg is hitting this frame a little bit right here. Um, like especially when I’m getting shooken around or shaken around a little bit. This definitely isn’t going down on this off-road section here. You know, this uh this obviously is a relatively practical bike with the fact that it has this middle rack here. I’ll say it like I’ve said a million times, it’s not a dirt bike, but these moped bikes like this, especially the dual motor ones, are going to be a lot better off road. And you have the nice X Chowyang knobby tires, too, to uh to help grip a little bit. 99% of these bikes come with these knobby tires like this, which is kind of funny cuz a lot of them aren’t built for going off-road or anything. They come with knobbyby tires when in reality you’re going to be uh using it on the street most of the time. It is nice that they come with knobbyby tires in case you do want to take them a little bit off-road, but most of the time you’re gonna be riding these things on the street. I just off-road because I got a lot of trails around here and it’s fun. So, yeah, this bike is really, really cool. I’m liking this thing so far. It’s actually my turn signal’s been on this whole time. My right turn signal’s been on this whole time, but um that’s one thing that I’ll say too is there’s no indication on the screen that your turn signal is on. There’s no light on here or anything either. So, uh and they’re they’re hard to see in the day when you’re uh actually riding this thing. So, can’t really see your turn signals are on. So, you got to be mindful of that, I guess. But, this thing is sick. I love how this looks. I thought it was going to be kind of a goofy looking bike just based off the pictures and everything, but in uh reality, this thing is is really good looking. It’s actually kind of stretched out. Like, there’s a lot of room here in the middle. You can tell they lengthen the frame over a lot of uh moped style bikes. It is a little bit longer and more stretched. And the fact that we have these inverted front forks on here, I’m just very impressed by that. I’ve not had a uh ebike with those yet besides my my Studio Dirt bike. But yeah, they they feel really good in the front. Man, you got some nice storage here in the middle to throw bananas or your groceries or whatever the heck you want in there. Only thing that kind of sets me back on this bike is the price of it. You know, at $12.99, it’s not the cheapest. And, you know, I don’t know if it’s the best value, but I think that it’s a good bike for that price. I don’t know if it’s the best value in the world, but it definitely is a pretty good price for what you’re getting. We are ripping off road here. Oh man, hitting some big bumps. It did not just say we got up to 27 there. There is no way. I thought I looked down and saw the speedometer said 27. Now, my leg right here is getting really beat up. That’s that’s one thing about this uh this frame here. It is beating me up a little bit on these pumps. Wo! But I don’t think they’re really marketing this thing as like a only off-road bike. It’s capable of going off-road, but it seems like they’re really uh emphasizing the practicality and the storage on this thing as opposed to just its off-road ability. So, let’s go up here. Whoa. Yeah, this bike is a lot of fun. These dual motor bikes are just a ton of fun to rip around on. Hitting 28, 29. It definitely feels like there’s more than it wants to give, but it feels like it is uh limited by computer on this. Let’s take this bike on the street here. We’re going to go down this curb. Yeah, that back is uh a little bit bouncy. Not the softest, but on the street, man, this thing feels really, really good. Got plenty of power for the road, plenty of acceleration to keep up with traffic and everything. You got the turn signals as well, so you can uh alert the other motorists on the road when you’re turning. That is if they see you. But yeah, this thing feels really nice offro onroad, sorry, onroad. And uh if you put some road tires on this thing, it’d be relatively quiet, but it’s stable. This this is a bit more of a heavy bike, so it’s it’s pretty stable at speed. I wish it went a little bit faster cuz I know that it could I can I can feel it. I know that it wants to go a little bit faster. And just like the other HighKeep dual motor bike that I reviewed, the uh battery gauge is all over the place. Looks like our voltage is at about 48.6. So, right around half battery on this thing. And we’ve gone about 4 1/2 miles on it so far. I I left the house with probably about a 90% battery. But man, this thing just wants to go. I love how quick this thing feels. Yeah, there we go. Spinning that thing. They’re going to go through front tires pretty quick on this bike. It’s really stable feeling and it feels great on the road. It’s a pretty practical bike. That’s the cool thing because a lot of times you got to choose when you’re buying a bike whether you want something that’s practical or you want something that looks cool and is pretty quick. But the cool thing about this is that it kind of combines both. It’s nice and practical. And it’s pretty quick, too. If you were doing Door Dash or Uber Eats or something on this, you’re probably going to want to add that second battery option because you’re going to go out of juice quick on this thing with only a 15.6 6 amp hour battery. Back on the trail here. The seat on this is uh is really comfortable, too. I think I’ve seen this seat on a couple other bikes. I might even have this on another highkey bike, but it it feels really comfortable. It hugs you really well. This is definitely a oneperson bike. It’s not a passenger carrying bike. On the trail here, it absorbs this uneven pavement really, really easily. The rear again is still feeling a little bit stiff, but that front, it just glides over everything. We got our bag back here. I’m going to try and throw in my 360 camera and selfie stick. And it fits. That’s really cool, man. That’s going to be something that I wish every bike had. And this thing handles really, really good for a moped style bike. This thing feels just so tossable. I’m super impressed at how stable this feels. And it’s a pretty long wheelbase for this thing. It’s It’s weird that it’s it feels so good. Speedometer seems to be pretty accurate on this bike. Looks like it’s saying about 18, 19, 20. Yeah, it’s kind of going back and forth. The the computer kind of lags on this. The voltage sag on this display is crazy. It just said 36%. Now it’s saying 56. I feel like I’m just ripping on this thing. It’s so much fun around these bends. We’ve got about 9 and 1/2 miles on this ride. I’m going to keep testing this thing out. Keep riding it around and I’m going to get back to you once we’re closer to home and give you my final thoughts on the HighKeep Met. By the way, guys, if you do want to pick this bike up, I will leave a link in the description with the best possible price that I can get for you guys. And of course, using those links to help support the channel. All right, see you guys in a bit. All right, guys. So, finishing up our ride on the High N dual motor eBike. Man, this thing is a really, really good bike. I am very impressed with this bike. HighKE just keeps making awesome, awesome stuff. You got the power of dual motors, 2 1500 watt peak motors on here. Um, you’ve got really, really comfortable front suspension. You’ve got a pretty good rear seat. Rear suspension isn’t the best, but you got these awesome, awesome, really good Corride hydraulic brakes, which I’m very impressed by. They feel great. Got a gorgeous fullcolor display on here. The one thing that I will knock this bike for, two things, actually, two things. Two things I’ll knock this bike for are its stiff rear suspension and only the 15.6 amp hour battery. You know, we’re going through a lot of battery here. We’ve gone about 13 miles, 12 and a half, 13 miles. Looks like we’re sitting at about 45.7 volts. You could get over 20 mi of range on this thing for sure. I have no doubt that it could do that. But this is a great feeling bike. I am really surprised by this. Uh, another thing that I will say is the uh the leg room on here. Since this is a wide frame with this basket in the middle here, my legs keep hitting this and if you’re going off-road, you’re going to your legs are going to like knock into that and it’s not very comfortable. So, that’s one thing to to keep in mind. really everything you’d want and a pretty reasonable price too at just under uh $1,300 bucks at $12.99 and I think I can get you 50 or $100 coupon off if you go ahead and use the link and the discount code in the description which obviously is going to help out the channel. But I really appreciate you guys supporting me and allowing me to bring you guys these cool bikes and uh show you guys what’s good and what’s not. So the screen right now is saying we have 59% battery left, which is really really good. I mean, I was being pretty hard on this thing when I was out there. Just on throttle only. We got over 13 miles on this. I was saying we’ve got 28%. So, this display is just all over the place, man. It can’t make its mind up, it seems. I think we’re going to call it there for today, guys. We’ve got about 14 1/2 miles. It’ll be 15 by the time I’m back home. Probably 40 50% battery on this thing. Not bad at all. You can get some good range out of this. I would say probably 20 to 25 at least on this 15.6 amp hour battery. I want to thank you all so much for watching and I will see you guys all in the next video. [Music]
