Ford Ranger PHEV: the good and bad of the new plug-in ute #ford #ranger #phev #ev #4×4 #offroad #ute

Here’s a few things we want to point out about the plug-in hybrid Ranger. Starting with a mechanical lock on the tailgate, unlike the other plug-in hybrid utes, you get these chunky roof racks and a step. Naturally, it’s plug-in hybrid, but you can only really charge this at home. It’s a slow charger only thanks to the BMS used. Interior wise, nothing much has changed, but you get this cool EV button. But if you want to open the bonnet, you got to do it from the passenger side. Got to be careful though because that’s a big electrical cable running very low under the passenger side. Something to be aware of. You can also say goodbye to dual battery system because it’s got one built in. Something I’m not enjoying is just some of this build quality. That is not good in a very expensive car. Much like this bit of plastic trim here. It’s not really acceptable when you’re going to be pressing that button every single time you use the vehicle.
