HappyRun G300 Pro: 50 MPH Electric Bike With PEDALS?!

[Music] all right guys i need help figuring out what this thing is is it a bike is it a motorcycle or is it something totally different hey everyone Micah here with Electric and today we’re reviewing the Happy Run G300 Pro a bike that answers the question what happens if you put pedals on a motorcycle come along with us while we check it out that’s what these are those are bike pedals those are bike cranks that’s a bicycle chain but don’t be fooled this is a powerful fast motorbike that wears those pedals the way a teenager wears a fake mustache trying to buy booze it’s obvious and it’s probably not going to work but hey it’s going to be an adventure either way now before I go too far into this I’m going to tell you that despite it having those bicycle pedals the performance means you may not want to opt for the normal bicycle safety gear and instead go with something more serious on these types of rides I generally prefer to wear the same gear I use while riding my motorcycles namely a legit fullface helmet and armored clothing and gloves that’s because this Happy Run G300 Pro claims a top speed of 50 mph or 80 kmh from its 6.5 kW peak rear motor this isn’t for messing around and to be honest it’s probably not even for public roads i did start out in the bicycle lane but that just felt wrong i know as a cyclist I would not want to come up against one of these so then I stuck to taking the lane though I’m probably playing fast and loose with the road rules here but hey I’m not doing this for me i would love nothing more than to be a fine upstanding citizen it’s you guys that force me to do this kind of stuff breaking laws left and right all willy-nilly like just so you can get your kicks seeing the newest abominations with pedals you guys only want one thing and it’s disgusting i’m not enjoying this one bit this is purely for you guys all right maybe it’s kind of neat okay fine it is hella fun but it’s probably even more fun off of public roads partly so I don’t have to worry about a cop pulling me over but also because a bike like this is meant for overlanding it’s meant for exploring it’s meant for going places that roads can’t take you that’s what these Supernobby tires are for that’s what this weirdly off-branded full suspension is for and this is the Happy Run G300 Pro’s happy place it’s even got a big old battery designed to make this kind of riding last with a 72vt 30 amp pack that is somehow still easily removable for charging off of the bike they claim up to 70 mi or 120 km of range from it which I think is only possible if you’re going like 20 m hour but to be fair it is a big battery and it does seem like it’s going to last a while with modest riding now I don’t see UL listed anywhere on it but it is underwritten by Ping Insurance so hey it’s got that going for it [Music] now this bike is definitely a bit of an oddity and it’s also got a mixture of both good and bad here for example the kickstand is weirdly good it’s like a solid Suron kickstand the hydraulic brakes also feel fine for all the types of riding I was doing but then the brakes come set up backwards or at least they come with bicycle style with the rear brake on the right handlebar when they should really be set up motorcycle style with the rear on the left bar unless we’re all still pretending this is a bicycle then there’s the throttle ramping it gives this weirdly soft throttle ramping which is probably a good idea for safety so that someone doesn’t go whiskey throttle and immediately tear away but I found it hard to even get one of those cool slow motion dirt slinging shots because it just wanted to gently pull away before ramping up the power and I couldn’t dump all the power and break out the rear tire so where does that leave us with the Happy Run G300 Pro well it’s basically something between an ebike and an e-oto yes it has pedals but no it’s probably not going to fly as an ebike based on how powerful and fast it is yes it’s got a motorcycle license plate holder and turn signals but that’s no guarantee you’ll be able to register it for on-road use as a motorcycle so we’re left in this weird gray area you could get into a lot of trouble with something like this or you could ride it responsible and turn it into a potent commuting tool or a fun exploring bike if it’s allowed where you live and you care to take the risk and its current sales price of around 2500 bucks it’s also priced somewhere between powerful ebikes and light electric dirt bikes like a Seron or a Toaria but at the end of the day I still don’t think we can pretend it’s a bicycle like I said I felt weird riding in bike lanes and I basically only used them when they were completely empty and they served as something of a shortcut like this 50 mph road with a prayer of a bicycle lane painted on the side of it but I preferred to actually take the lane on a bike like this most of the time and I even more preferred to spend my riding time off-road to take advantage of doing what street bikes can’t do riding this type of terrain this is a pretty cool bike for that type of riding and its big battery and powerful motor add to that experience but if you’re going to ride something like this there’s some serious personal responsibility that comes along with it if you go hurt yourself that’s one thing but definitely don’t go hurting someone else [Music] thanks for watching everyone we hope you enjoyed that review of the Happy Run G300 Pro if you did why don’t you give this video a thumbs up and don’t forget to subscribe
