Mini Aceman 2025 review: Iconic brand’s smallest electric SUV yet targets new Volvo EX30
The 2025 Mini Aceman is an all-new model from the iconic British-German premium brand, with the light SUV effectively replacing the previous-generation Mini Hatch 5-Door as its smallest five-seat, five-door offering, albeit in a higher-riding form. Either way, the Aceman is also fully electric, meaning it finds going tyre to tyre with the popular Volvo EX30.
Of course, the Aceman tries to stand out from the crowd with exterior and interior designs, which are both classic Mini with a modern twist. Under the bonnet is a front-mounted electric motor, outputting either 135kW/290Nm in the entry-level E, or 160kW/330Nm in the flagship SE. The former is fitted with a 42kWh battery pack that enables 310km of WLTP-rated driving range, while the latter’s 54kWh unit can travel 406km between charges.
In this expert review, CarsGuide Contributing Journalist David Morley gets behind the wheel of the Aceman at its Australian media launch to find out how good it is.
