Had a new exhaust fitted to my car 2 days ago. Old one was sawed off and the new one was clamped on and exhaust sealant was used around the clamp (as shown). However, over the past 2 days moisture has formed seemingly underneath the point of connection between old and new. My first thought was water from condensation but I noticed the patch after a few hours of being away from it so I imagine it would have dried during that time if it were water. I gave it a smell and it didn’t appear to be fuel or oil from that, but I have absolutely no idea. Anyone able to help?

One of the combustion products of gasoline is water.

That’s all it is. It’s normal for water to drip out of exhausts. But if it’s coming out of the connection point, that probably means a loose connection. Some exhausts have drainage holes because they collect so much water. If it’s dripping slowly that might be why the dark spot is still present after a few hours.
