I replaced everything in my ac system on my 2011 Xterra accept for the evaporator since I gotta pull my dash apart. Anyways it gets cold but the ac compressor runs for 30 seconds or so then clicks off and then runs again. I’m thinking maybe I over filled the system with r-134a? Im also at 10,000ft elevation which might effect the pressure as well. Can someone please watch the video in my link of my manifold pressure guages. Low will go to 30 then go higher, hi pressure goes from 150-170ish. What do you guys think? Please help I have a trip to the desert next weekend. Do I have too much refrigerant or not enough? I added more then I was supposed to I think.

I would check with a scanner to see what the evaporator temperature is, it maybe freezes (or the sensor thinks that it freezes) and shuts off the compressor, also i would check the pressure value on the pressure sensor to see if it says the same thing as your gauge. Pressures look okay when it’s on, 150 high and 30 low is good. For the quantity unless you have an ac machine its hard to put the right amount, its probably written under your hood but I don’t know how you’ll know how much you add in except for the pressures. Also I don’t think its possible considering the high pressure is okay but make sure your rad fan is working when you turn the ac on but usually the high pressure sky rockets in the 200+ when the fans aren’t working. A possibility is maybe the dryer isn’t doing its job as well but not that likely.
Compressor cycling is because your low pressure side is going lower than the tipping point of the pressure switch.
Seems normal when using HC12a.
Seems like your pressures are too low.
