Beijing is one of the places where you’re most likely to get busted for modding your car, being the capital and all that. If you go down south, you’d be surprised by how much you can get away with. There is an LS swapped RHD FD RX7 with a valid registration in Yunnan, despite the LS never getting the emission certs, plus the RX7 never been sold in the mainland.
But yeah, if they really cared about road safety they’d have done something about the 0-60 arms race among domestic EV manufacturers or distracted driving associated with touchscreen entertainment systems.
