So this is honestly driving me nuts, there is four clips holding the top piece of trim on, the clips have a metal pin in the middle and I can’t for the life of me, figure out how to get these out (this is a look at the inside of the tailgate and looking up) if someone could point me in the right direction, before I lose my mind, it would be immensely appreciated! Thank you!

Those are called rivets. You have to drill or punch out the center. They are not reusable
Got to chip or cut away at it. Just be careful and try to cause as little collateral damage to the area around it.
