Hello All,

I am looking for a fine car (coupe) for me. I don’t need a sedan or suv fr. I am 25 single, immigrant and saving money for my first house.

My budget is 20K for a car, I will put 10K as DP and rest will be financed.

I had a test drive of [https://www.autotrader.ca/a/honda/accord%20coupe/brossard/quebec/5\_60879942\_ct2004322105556168/?showcpo=ShowCpo&ncse=no&ursrc=boost\_hl&orup=2\_10\_65&sprx=-1](https://www.autotrader.ca/a/honda/accord%20coupe/brossard/quebec/5_60879942_ct2004322105556168/?showcpo=ShowCpo&ncse=no&ursrc=boost_hl&orup=2_10_65&sprx=-1)

I liked the car, 16 service record so far, 1 owner, but exhaust is modified (it’s borla) I loved the sound it makes. Dealer is gave me final price of 17.2k CAD for it. I checked with insurance it’s 160 CAD/ month.

Should I buy this 10 years old car ? is it worth it. I am not looking to resell it atleast for next 10 year.

Please tell what should i do,

I guess there are a few factors to think about to understand your needs, it’s not the v6 which would be a much better driving car (smoother, more powerful etc.) and more desirable. However, the i4 will require less routine maintenance (timing belt on the v6) and have a l/100km benefit. Personally I’d only look to an accord for a v6, especially for a coupe.

I wouldn’t put too much concern on low km (although rust in your area could be a factor with higher km) if you are dead set on the i4, what are the other examples available around you to understand how this is priced comparatively?

How does saving for a house and financing a car fit together? If the house is your goal, the car should be as cheap as possible.

It’s too bad you aren’t closer. I have a higher mileage accord, v6 6spd I’m trying to sell.

But, I have 200k on mine. No issues. Just maintenance. It’s been a great car

With $10K you could probably purchase a comparable vehicle with higher mileage from a private seller, all wish cash, and save what you would be paying monthly on an auto loan towards your first home.

    Or another possibility….

$10K takes a LONG time to save up. If I were in this situation I might be more inclined to keep the $10K for a down payment on the house instead and pay **more** per month on a cheaper car with a 10% downpayment

Toyota or Honda with low to decent mileage is a good buy.
