Just wanted to post this here so others will know what a dead battery issue sounds like when trying to start a car.

I had this issue where I tried to start my 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer ES, but the cluster/dashboard powered off and there was a loud and rapid clicking noise. I never experienced a dead battery before so I was super confused, and I hope this helps other inexperienced car owners recognize a dead battery. It took me like an hour to diagnose the problem so I hope this saves other people some trouble!
